110 loud silencers destroyed by Road Roller

Anantapur – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): District SP P Jagadish led a public event near the local clock tower where 110 modified two-wheeler silencers, seized during a city police operation, were destroyed using a road roller. The symbolic act aimed to emphasize the seriousness of the issue and deter motorists from using such silencers.

Strict warnings issued to violators

SP Jagadish issued a stern warning against the use of loud silencers, reminding motorists that such modifications violate the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Legal consequences: Offenders face up to 3 months in jail, fines of up to Rs 10,000, and a 3-month suspension of their driving licenses.

Mechanics also liable: Mechanics involved in making such modifications will also face criminal action.

Noise pollution and public health concerns

Highlighting the dangers of loud silencers, SP Jagadish explained their impact:

Disruption and accidents: Loud noises can distract other drivers, leading to accidents.

Public health risks: Excessive noise contributes to noise pollution, adversely affecting public health and well-being.

Special drive launched against violators

The SP announced a special drive to crack down on loud silencers and urged motorists to stick to company-provided silencers.

Motorists were advised to prioritize safety and compliance over modifications that inconvenience the public and pose risks.
The campaign serves as a broader initiative to promote road safety and reduce noise pollution in Anantapur.

The event witnessed the active participation of Anantapur DSP V Srinivasa Rao, Circle Inspectors, and other police officers, showcasing the collective commitment of law enforcement to this cause.
