KVPS Seeks Action Against Caste-hate Quotations in Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema
Amalapuram – Andhra Pradesh: Leaders of KVPS and allied associations submitted a petition to the District Collector on Thursday, alleging that caste-hate quotations were being used in Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema district during celebrations and on public flex banners. They urged immediate action to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Allegations of misuse
KVPS District Convener Chettu Battula Tulasi Rao said that during occasions such as film hero birthdays, film releases, and even on wedding cards, some groups were printing derogatory quotations. He alleged that this was being done to arouse caste hatred and belittle Ambedkar’s legacy.

Objection to district naming
The leaders further alleged that even though the government had officially named the district after Dr. B R Ambedkar, official documents and flex banners continued to use only “Konaseema district.” They said adding names of film heroes to the district name was discriminatory and disrespectful to Ambedkar.

Demand for legal measures
KVPS leaders, along with State Vice President of the Agricultural Workers’ Association Kaarem Venkateswara Rao, said that printing press managements were encouraging such caste pride expressions. They demanded strict legal action against both those who create such content and those who print it, ensuring government orders are implemented without exception.
The petition was formally submitted to the District Collector. KVPS leaders David Ambedkar, Sape Ramesh, Rambabu, and others also participated in the program.
