Mala Mahanadu Files Complaint, Demands Probe Into Proddatur Land Registrations
Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Mala Mahanadu (Ramaji Group) National President Ramaji Emmanuel has formally lodged a complaint on Friday with the Kadapa District Registrar against the Proddatur Sub-Registrar and Senior Assistant, seeking an enquiry into alleged irregular land registrations. He urged authorities to take strict action in the interest of public welfare and financial institutions.
-
Allegations of irregular registrations
According to Emmanuel, several plots in Amrutha Nagar and vacant lands in Proddatur town have been registered against government rules. He alleged that this was done in collusion with landowners, diverting revenue meant for the state. He further stated that duplicate pattas in the name of benami holders were allegedly facilitated by the Sub-Registrar’s office. These, he claimed, were being used to secure loans from banks, putting the financial sector at risk.
-
Risk to banks and public revenue
Pointing to possible misuse, Emmanuel noted that lands valued below Rs 1 lakh were allegedly registered at inflated values, allowing higher bank loans that may remain unpaid. He warned this practice could cause heavy losses to banks and deprive the state of legitimate revenue.
-
Call for action
Mala Mahanadu has called on the Registrar and district authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all registrations since the concerned officials assumed office. Emmanuel said that failure to act would compel the community to organize larger protests demanding accountability.
