BCs Need Political Priority For True Social And Economic Empowerment

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: BC National Front State President DM Obulesu Yadav has urged Backward Classes (BCs) across the country to rise politically and fight for legislative representation, stating that their social and economic progress depends on gaining political priority proportional to their population share.

• BC National Front holds awareness meeting 

A political awareness meeting was organized at the Press Club in Kadapa on Saturday under the aegis of the BC National Front. The meeting, presided over by Obulesu Yadav, drew a large number of participants and focused on the need for greater political consciousness among BCs to ensure their rightful representation in legislative bodies.

• Political neglect keeping BCs backward

Speakers at the meeting said that although BCs constitute more than half of India’s population, they remain politically, economically, and socially backward due to lack of political power. They emphasized that despite promises made by successive governments, genuine efforts for BC welfare have been minimal, leaving the community deprived of access to quality education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

• Call for proportionate representation and caste census

Speakers highlighted that the upper castes, who constitute only about 10 percent of the population, continue to dominate politics, business, and government contracts. He said that political awareness and unity among BCs are crucial to changing this imbalance. He called for immediate caste-based census and population-based reservations in legislatures, education, and employment sectors to ensure justice and equality.

• Movement for BC empowerment urged

The BC National Front President urged community members to prepare for organized movements demanding political representation and equitable rights. He asserted that only when BCs gain legislative power can they enact laws that uplift the community across all sectors of society.

• Large turnout of BC leaders and members

The meeting witnessed active participation from several BC leaders and representatives including Mallikarjuna, Karu Anjaneyulu, JV Ramana, Sangati Manohar, Chandramouli, CRV Prasad, Kaipu Ramanjaneyulu, Pattupogula Pawan Kumar, Devara Krishna, Lambhodhara, Pratap Reddy, Manoj Kumar, Vijay Yadav, Srinivasulu Yadav, Mallikarjuna Yadav, Dr. Subbarayudu, and others.
