Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Indian cricketer Nallapureddy Sri Charani, who represented the nation and excelled in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, received a rousing welcome and grand felicitation at Raja Reddy Cricket Stadium, Kadapa, on Friday night under the auspices of the YSR Kadapa District Cricket Association.

Sri Charani was accorded a spectacular reception on her first visit to Kadapa after India’s World Cup triumph. A grand rally was organized from the local post office through 7-Road Junction, NTR Circle, Kotireddy Junction, and Rajiv Marg to Raja Reddy Stadium. The procession featured fireworks, traditional music, and cheering fans, with Sri Charani leading part of the route on horseback before arriving at the stadium by car.

Addressing the gathering, Sri Charani expressed her happiness to be back in her home district and thanked everyone for their overwhelming love and support. She said the affection shown by the people of Kadapa was her greatest reward after representing India on the world stage.

District leaders, public representatives, and members of the cricket fraternity lauded Sri Charani for her outstanding performance in the Women’s World Cup. She was felicitated with a shawl amid thunderous applause, and a special audio-visual presentation showcasing her cricketing journey left the audience deeply moved.

Sri Charani’s family members, young cricket enthusiasts, and hundreds of fans also participated in the grand celebration.
