JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Today the Missouri Community Service Commission (MCSC) recognizes individuals and organizations who exemplify its mission of strengthening Missouri communities through service and volunteerism.

Award recipients were selected by Missouri Community Service Commissioners through a competitive review process of nominations from all across the state of Missouri.

“The list of awardees is a reflection of the outstanding service given by youth and communities in our state,” Don Stamper Executive Director of MCSC said. “We are excited to recognize their efforts and thank the Monsanto Corporation for their continued commitment.”

The 2018 MCSC/Monsanto High School Scholarship Award Recipients are as follows:

John Ancell, Macon R-1 High School (Macon)

Megan Long, Oak Park High School (Kansas City)

Ian Matlack, St. Joseph Christian School (St. Joseph)

Gracemary Nganga, Hazelwood West High School (Hazelwood)

Reagan Page, School of the Osage (Kaiser)

All award recipients will be officially recognized at the MCSC Annual Celebration of Volunteerism and Service on May 10, 2018 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The MCSC encourages all Missourians to help make our communities and neighbors safer, smarter, and healthier through volunteerism and service. Everyone can give time, which is undeniably one of the greatest gifts we can give each other.

The Missouri Community Service Commission (MCSC) is located within the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Its mission is to connect Missourians of all ages and backgrounds in an effort to improve unmet community needs through direct and tangible service. The MCSC serves as the administrator of AmeriCorps State funding in Missouri by awarding monetary grants and providing technical assistance and support to its sub-grantees.
