An Insight into the Musical Journey of Denny Strickland: The Malibu Coast Is the Hit of All Time

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The greatest life lessons that we learn are from the experiences that we go through, be it good or bad. Similarly, from his on-the-job music industry education to a life-transforming, death escaping an encounter with a tornado, to the inspiration he descends from his muse, Denny Strickland has endured, learned and is now emerging as a rare blend of perplexity and lucidity, poetic imagery and aching honesty, evident within all the super hit tracks that he produces, be it ‘We Don’t Sleep’, ‘Don’t You Wanna’, or the amazing ‘Malibu Coast’, which will surely make you embark onto the musical journey to the Malibu Coast.

Today, talking about Denny Strickland’s heart-touching track ‘Malibu Coast’, we are sure you will be left awestruck with the tantalizing taste of the country.

Strickland shares that each track he creates artistically possesses a part of his life and gives an insight into his being. Yet, the music remains a bit of artisan to only those who feel it.   “If you feel and our heart pours with the beat, you will love it like nothing,” he says. “However, if you fail to loosen yourself to the flow of music, you may hate it, and you hate it, you hate it. Yet, I am in the process of exploring a genre that I articulated.  All I can accept is that I do not have the foggiest idea about where I’ll be down the road. Yet, I do know one thing that whatever I write and the record is truly a part of me,” he adds.

The apparent adoration of Strickland for country music, makes the roots of country singer-songwriter Denny Strickland crystal clear.  Born outskirts of Jonesboro, Arkansas, he has grown up with the intense love for country music. This profound, deep-rooted relationship is depicted in the singing of Strickland that attains that blend of assertion, melodiousness and sensitivity: something that even the maven of artist struggles to pursue and achieve successfully. However, the more you indulge into Strickland’s exceptional pieces, you will witness the establishment of his distinctiveness, specifically in his solo song ‘Malibu Coast’, the remarkable piece released in 2019.  Denny Strickland defines himself as “a romantic artist who is dedicated to moving the heart who he reaches and every soul that listens to him.”

Yet there is something unique that makes this Strickland shine bright, setting him apart from all other artists. That is his message in the music, which is not generic and goes beyond the purpose of entertainment. “Each track I came up with is both personal and relate-able,” says Denny Strickland. This explains why you can sense the beat raveling in your, realizing whether you are truly focus on his music or not.

The amazing country singer-songwriter has an impressive, traditional guise, however, it majorly contradicts the experimental nature of his music that blends both country and hip hop. “Malibu Coast” features very contemporary beats and electronic elements, paired with a spitfire melodic delivery that borrows as much from rap and hip-hop as it does from country music.

A tour to the Malibu Coast

The mind-boggling lyrics of “Malibu Coast” reflects the singer doing his job at a hard grind while daydreaming of precious time when he and his lady love would be able to escape to the sunny West Coast for adventure, together.

“Let’s turn this grass into gold / Rags to riches / Baby I know / I’m on the road more than home / I promise you babe, the payoff’s close / Dust your shoulders off babe like I told you so / Sayin’, ‘Rock this bitch’ /  Yeah we’re livin’ the most / Next to Lana Del Ray babes / BFF goals on a hideaway crib on the Malibu coast,” are the incredible the lyrics that will leave you remembering your lady love.

“I’m taking you on this musical journey to a place that I have been before and am having trouble getting back to, but I want to be there again,” Strickland explains. “I’m feeling good, I’m becoming the person you see in the pictures again, what most of the public sees and it’s great. I truly love the artistry and my work. Palm trees, ocean breeze, yeah… that’s right where I wanna be. See you there…”

Strickland teamed with Buford Williams, Jr., to write “Malibu Coast,” and it truly shows the best of both the artists. Strickland is no stranger to juxtaposing different musical styles, for his previous single, “Don’t You Wanna,” was a genre-bending collaboration with hip-hop artist Juicy J., and it was hugely praised by his fan base.

Strickland is currently working on a new album this to be released this year. We are anxiously waiting for the album to be released so we can relish an amazing cross-stitch between the two music genre, blended with Strickland’s hypnotizing vocals.
