I went and saw #GoodFortune today at my local MJR chain #Theater (Southgate MI), 
thought it was good, I’ll give it a B+

 

I was looking forward to seeing it for some time – which sometimes means building anticipation and expectations and therefore disappointment (as cannot live up to the hype/expectations) but this one was GREAT. The Previews gave enough to know it would be interesting (kinda a TRADING PLACES (remember the old Eddy Murphy film, which was NOT ORIGINAL then either as it was a remake/reboot of an old B&W film) and ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE mash-up.

INTERESTING though that with #TillyNorwood (also, see related: /movies/2025/10/have-we-really-reached-the-day-looker-and-s1m0ne-no-longer-potential-fantasy-ai-replacing-the-humans-2440565.html) having come onto the scene a bit ago (and talk of #AI replacing #Actors / #Actresses) that a #movie that ends with ANTI-TECH and especially ANTI-AI rant – may be #HumanNature SELF PRESERVATION concerns kicking in. They do not care about YOUR #JOB GOING AWAY but they are all damn well WORRIED now their big paychecks COULD DRY UP?!?!?
Cynical conspiracy thinking? Or obvious #CommonSense understanding of #HumanNature to raise such a Question and MOTIVATIONS?!?!?

Why the HELL does it seem #Hollywood is HOOKED on releasing (like 80% all) films in #HORROR genre these days?!?!?
I saw #GoodFortune and the #Trailers, one after another, #LIONSGATE, ALL HORROR #FILMS!
Thoughts?!?!?
I don’t bother seeing any in that genre anymore, at age 63 and having seen so many of them they are all now so PREDICTABLE and make me Laugh hysterically at them (annoying others, so I don’t bother see any of them anymore).

 

Beyond the AI (anti-tech rant at end) beyond that basic #HumanNature and #HumanCondition tale and ALL LIVES HAVE MEANING message. Much like (in theme, not tale telling) 2 of my latest books — THE BOOK OF KENNEDY: PROJECT CARPE DIEM and A SHORT STORY: A LASTING LEGACY? (misnomer title, it is a novelette, as is TBOK:PCD) tales. Both ALL LIFE HAS VALUE/MEANING messaging but both told very differently TBOK:PCD a standard narrative telling and LEGACY? a time-tested writing method (though, my first time using it) of using “Journal entries” to deliver the story.
