Austria: Afghan Threatens to Behead Chancellor

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

-Heute (Austria)

Here’s another Afghan success story out of Austria. A man identified only as Ahmad M. wrote a message on Instagram to Chancellor Karl Nehammer (in English) telling him to change or he (Ahmad M.) would behead him in Parliament. In the note, he stated that he was a Christian, not Muslim, but the authorities believe this is radical Islamist language. Ahmad was tracked down and arrested. He currently has legal asylum status. It seems that his original application for asylum was denied, but he won out on appeal and was granted asylum.

Now this.

I have lost track of how many stories we have translated about young male Afghans who are granted asylum by Austria and have been arrested for serious, violent crimes, some of which are terroristic (Jihad) in nature. Whether this one fits into that category is still being sorted out by Austrian police.

Fousesquawk has translated an article in the Austrian daily, Heute, which appears below.

Islamist wanted to behead Nehammer in Parliament

After a death threat on Instagram, the handcuffs clicked on the Afghan. Interior Minister Karner: “We do not tolerate any Islamist activities.”

During interrogation, Ahmad M. now fantasizes that the Devil had written the evil death threats. Last week, the Afghan citizen sent Karl Nehammer (51, Peoples’ Party) a wild, private Instagram message.

“Change or I will kill you in the Parliament. I will cut off your head,” wrote the migrant to the head of the Government. Nehammer’s team reported the content to the Agency for Protection of the Constitution (Federal Security Police). The suspect was subsequently (identified) due to close collaboration with regional police units.

Arrest during a fight

Due to a fight in Tirol, the (police) finally succeeded in arresting the Afghan in Telfs. Although he wrote to Nehammer on Instagram that he was Christian, the investigation brought to light a radical-Islamist worldview.

The Afghan’s asylum application, according to Heute‘s information, was originally denied by the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum (BFA). However, together with a lawyer, Ahmad M. filed an appeal against the decision. Finally, the Federal Administration Court granted him asylum.

A proceeding into his protection status is now underway. Ahmad M. is presumed innocent.

Interior Minister: “No compromise against Islamist extremists”

“We tolerate no Islamist activity and death threats,” says Interior Minister Gerhard Karner. In addition, the Internet is no law-free space. Whoever does that, will be investigated by the Protection of the Constitution (Security Police) and brought to justice. Proceedings against Islamist extremism will be uncompromising and with the full force of the rule of law,” according to the VP politician.
