Daily chances of showers and thunderstorms will continue through the weekend, with the best coverage most likely in the afternoons and evenings. Small chances of rain lingering overnight in the North Carolina mountains. Very hot and humid weather will continue through Friday, but a weak cold front arriving this weekend will drop temperatures to more seasonally normal hot weather while providing better chances for rain Saturday.
