Italy: Milan Is Out of Control

Under the feckless leadership of Milan’s mayor, Beppe Sala, migrant crime has spiraled out of control. The below article in Il Giornale, translated by Fousesquawk, reports how North African youth are taking over parts of the city and even firing pistols into the air. The article has a video of that incident. In addition, the article references a reported gang rape against a 19-year-old girl by a group of about 10 North African men. Other media are reporting that one Egyptian male is in custody on that charge while his accomplices are being sought.

It gets worse and worse. Violence, drug dealing, muggings, bivouacking, and pickpockets were not enough: In Milan, unfortunately, it has gone beyond that. In a video circulated first on chat and disseminated on social media by the European Parliament, and (Milan) City Counselor, Silvia Sardone, Here is shown the latest and dangerous step toward the abyss. In the video in question, we see a young man outside a commercial business on via Padova, drawing a pistol and firing some shots into the air. Scenes that we would never have thought we’d see in a city that for some time, has been under the spotlight for continuous alerts on the part of those who lament a real safety emergency.

After all, you certainly cannot consider a metropolis safe in which there are those who walk around with weapons and use them in the middle of the street as if it were a videogame. “For days, videos have been circulating, taken by residents of via Padova, of North Africans who in the evenings and nights, deal drugs, drink, and even shoot into the air. The citizens of the area are alarmed and have called law enforcement several times.  Indeed, according to the testimony of the residents, a police patrol car was hit with bottles. This suburb has now been abandoned: Unlike “via Padova is the best of Milan” as the left used to say in a famous slogan, the Lega member, Sardone, has denounced in a statement.   

According to the complaints of the residents, the episodes of insecurity are reportedly nothing new in that zone. “Drug dealing, criminality, degradation, bivouacking are a constant. It is a multiethnic suburb that seems increasingly a ghetto and where foreign delinquents feel like the masters,” Sardone also stated, calling into question the mayor, Beppe Sala. “Just yesterday,” the Lega European Parliament deputy stated, “He talked about the suburbs saying that ‘he knew them’: In reality, his lack of interest is there for all to see”. And further: “A zone that asks for security and attention receives absolutely nothing from the municipal administration. Indeed, a project is on the way: A mosque,  exactly what this neighborhood did not need.”

To now deny that in the capital city of Lombardy, there is alarming insecurity is really difficult. Indeed, impossible. On the night of Friday the 10th (of January) leading into Saturday, the 11th, for example, a 19-year-old girl was sexually molested and abused by about 10 men outside the Alcatraz discothek. 

Added to this episode are those reported after New Year’s Eve, during which group molestations against some girls were reported. The appropriate investigations into this incident are in progress, launched after the shocking complaints from the alleged victims.
