The modern Democratic Party comprises an alliance between the degenerate liberal elite and the welfare class it breeds for votes. These two constituencies attack the middle class in a pincer maneuver. Where Democrats prevail without significant resistance, the middle class is undergoing eradication. As it becomes increasingly ludicrous for Democrats to pitch themselves as the party of the middle class, Republicans will pull away from them on this issue too. Spoilt rich kids who fail to grow up and welfare loafers will continue to vote Democrat. No one else will, except of course college professors and liberal journalists.
