It was awe-inspiring. And the mentally ill, violent, and treasonous left rioted in various blue cities to an audience of groans and yawns.
Nowhere could you see the righteous home team and the enemy within.

CNN: President Donald Trump praised the United States Army as the “greatest, fiercest and bravest fighting force” at the conclusion of a grand display of military might in the nation’s capital Saturday as the Army celebrated its 250th birthday with a parade.
“Time and again, America’s enemies have learned that if you threaten the American people, our soldiers are coming for you. Your defeat will be certain, your demise will be final, and your downfall will be total and complete,“ Trump said Saturday, offering a stark message amid a time of conflict across the globe.
“The Army keeps us free, you make us strong, and tonight, you have made all Americans very proud,” Trump told US Army soldiers gathered at the National Mall.
The military parade coincided with the president’s 79th birthday and took place as crowds across the country attended “No Kings” protests, denouncing what organizers described as Trump’s authoritarian policies. The president was welcomed to his parade stand with pomp, circumstance and an impromptu birthday celebration. He arrived to a 21-gun salute — and as the cannons fired, members of the crowd began singing “Happy Birthday to You.”
The parade featured several million pounds of military hardware, including dozens of M1-A1 Abrams tanks and Bradley and Stryker fighting vehicles rolling through the streets of DC, as well as Howitzers and other artillery pieces.
Nearly 7,000 soldiers were set to participate in the largest military parade the city has seen in decades, which officials have estimated could cost up to $45 million. The event told the story of the Army through its 250-year history, beginning with the Revolutionary War and tracing through major conflicts.

The parade was laid out as a tribute to the 250 years of its existence, starting with George Washington’s Army, officially the Continental Army, during the Revolutionary War in 1775.
Service members dressed in historic garb, some on horseback, first made their way down the parade route, followed by iterations of the service from decades past including WWI, WWII, the Korea, Vietnam and Gulf Wars, and the War on Terror in the first two decades of the 21st century.
Videos were displayed on the screen behind the main stage highlighting specific Army moments. One showed Trump’s visit to Fort Bragg last week. Another showed a graduation ceremony and cadets from the US Military Academy at West Point.
Also shown were videos with military members giving testimonials about what their service means to them.
But what drew the largest cheers were the vehicles used from WWII all the way up to the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, and any potential conflicts beyond, starting with the M4 Sherman medium tank that gave way to Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Abrams tanks, Stryker armored personnel carriers and Howitzers.
Capping off the parade route were a group of troops representing the Army’s future, with 250 new recruits or soldiers who were re-enlisting pausing before Trump to raise their right hand and have their commander-in-chief swear them into service.

The Republican president, on his 79th birthday, sat on a special viewing stand south of the White House to watch the display of American military might, which began early and moved swiftly as light rain fell and dark clouds shrouded the Washington Monument. The procession with more than 6,000 soldiers and 128 Army tanks was one Trump tried to make happen in his first term after seeing such an event in Paris in 2017, but the plans never came together until this year, when the parade was added to an event recognizing the Army’s 250th anniversary.

Up above, the Army’s Golden Knights parachute team appeared in the overcast sky, descending toward the reviewing stand. The team had been scheduled to jump at the end of the parade, but appeared in the skies above the National Mall far earlier than planned as a light rain fell.
At times, Trump stood and saluted as troops marched past the reviewing stand.
Trump, in brief remarks following the parade, both thanked the Army, which he said “keeps us free, makes us strong” and delivered a warning to adversaries of the United States that their “defeat will be certain” if they threaten the American people.

The president also thanked troops and veterans, telling the crowd that “thanks to their extraordinary service and devotion, 250 years later, America stands tall, America stands proud, and America stands free.”
He further praised the United States as “the hottest country in the world right now,” and promised that “our country will soon be greater and stronger than ever before.”

Hours before the parade started, demonstrators turned out in streets and parks around the nation to sound off against the Republican president. They criticized Trump for using the military to respond to people protesting his deportation efforts and for the muscular military show in the U.S. capital.
In Washington, anti-war protesters unfurled signs that said “Homes not drones” not far from a display of armored vehicles, helicopters, and military-grade equipment on the National Mall set up to commemorate the Army’s birthday. Vendors outside the festival sold gear marking the military milestone. Others hawked Trump-themed merchandise.

Trump had brushed off the possibility of weather or protest disruptions. In a social media post Saturday morning, he said the “great military parade” would be on “rain or shine.” The protests, he said earlier, “will be met with very big force.” Hours ahead of the parade, crowds of protesters with anti-Trump signs marched toward the White House, escorted by police vehicles and officers on bicycles. Some held a giant banner that read: “TRUMP MUST GO NOW.”
The parade was added just a few weeks ago to the planned celebration of the Army’s birthday and has drawn criticism for its price tag of up to $45 million and the possibility that the lumbering tanks could tear up city streets. The Army has taken a variety of steps to protect the streets, including laying metal plates along the route.
About 6 in 10 Americans said Saturday’s parade was “not a good use” of government money. The vast majority of people, 78%, said they neither approve nor disapprove of the parade overall, according to a poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
Larry Stallard, a retired American Airlines pilot, traveled to Washington from Kansas City for the weekend “to see the military and see Trump.”
Stallard, who voted for Trump, said it was “hard to believe” people are upset about the cost of the event when “they blow that in 10 seconds on things that we don’t even need.”
The daylong display of America’s Army comes as Trump has shown his willingness to use the nation’s military might in ways other U.S. presidents have typically avoided. In the past week, he has activated the California National Guard without the governor’s permission and dispatched the U.S. Marines to provide security during Los Angeles protests related to immigration raids, prompting a state lawsuit to stop the deployments.
He similarly sought to project military strength during his first presidential term, saying in 2020 that he wanted forces to “dominate” the streets following protests that turned violent and warning governors that he was prepared to send in active-duty fighters if they did not call out the National Guard in their states.
