Germany: Afghans Go at it with Knives in Berlin
On Saturday evening in Berlin, two groups of Afghans engaged in a mass knife fight in front of the city’s Humboldt Forum*. Six of them are now in the hospital with knife wounds, one in critical condition, as police search for the others and try to figure out what went wrong. (I have some ideas).

Two groups clashed Saturday evening in Berlin-Mitte. The fight among them escalated, and some drew knives. In the end, 6 of the participants were injured, one of them in a life-threatening condition.
On Saturday evening, 6 men were injured in an altercation in Berlin-Mitte.
A 24-year-old man was critically injured in the back, a police report stated on Sunday. The other injured, aged 20-26 years, suffered cut and stab wounds on the hands, legs, pelvis, and upper body and were taken to a hospital.
14-year-old turned over to child emergency services
The police were alerted because at the Humboldt Forum, two groups of men armed with knives were reportedly going at each other.
According to initial reports, there were somewhere between 8 and 10 people involved in the altercation at the Karl Liebknecht Bridge late Saturday evening. All of the injured are being investigated as suspects for mutual dangerous bodily injury. It is conceivable that other individuals were involved, and some may have fled before police officers arrived at the scene, according to a police spokesperson. Responding officers were unable to find any knives or such weapons.
The circumstances of the bloody altercation are still unclear. It is being investigated whether the groups had met earlier at Alexanderplatz (Square) and possibly had an argument there, the police spokesperson told RBB (news). The police were called at around 9:45 pm. At the scene, the officers took a 14-year-old girl and two 19 and 20-year-old men into custody. Shortly afterward, they were released. The police believe that they are witnesses. The 14-year-old was turned over to the care of Child Emergency Services.
