Having to Admit That Criminals Shot in Self-Defense by Border Patrol Are Gangbangers Makes Portland Police Chief Cry

What does it take to be top cop in a city run by moonbats who aggressively side with criminals against law enforcement? Invertebrate Portland Police Chief Bob Day demonstrates.

Daily Wire reports on a Friday press conference:

Day admitted that the Department of Homeland Security was correct about a shooting involving alleged Tren de Aragua gang members — before Day broke down in tears about having to share the truth with the public.

The foreign criminals employed the Renee Good technique of weaponizing their vehicle against law enforcement — with similar results.

“What I can say is there is an association with the two folks yesterday and TDA,” Day admitted. “I hesitated to even share this information initially because I’m very aware of the historic injustice of victim-blaming oftentimes portrayed by law enforcement, including this very agency.”

By “victim,” he means “criminal.” According to liberal ideology, the bad guys are the good guys because they are victimized by law enforcement.

Day whimperingly pandered to Hispanics, whom liberals assume are all on board with their open borders and pro-criminal agenda:

“I understand, or at least have attempted to understand through your voices, your concern, your fear, your anger — this information in no way meant to disparage or to condone or support or agree with any of the actions that occurred yesterday.”

Yesterday refers to Thursday, when the foreign criminals Luis David Nino-Moncada and Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras received well-earned wounds.

Andy Ngo provides more information:

“The entire city and state leadership, all run by Democrats, organized an emergency press conference to condemn the federal agents, reject DHS’ statement and to express support with the violent suspects, who they called the ‘victims,’” Ngo said. “Local and national media also misled the public about the shooting. A mob showed up to try to attack the ICE facility, leading to six arrests.”

Watch and weep — on second thought, don’t weep; leave the blubbering to moonbats:

By now most of the real cops must have escaped the area to locales where their services are appreciated, leaving Portland to its just deserts. No real cop who remains is going to be made chief.
