Euthanasia Follows Evaluation Outside Canadian Fast Food Restaurant

The New York Posts reports:
A Canadian doctor euthanized a 45-year-old patient suffering from inflammatory bowel disease and depression after a quick assessment outside a Tim Hortons, according to officials.
It is unclear whether the fast food served at Tim Hortons caused a bellyache requiring the patient to be put down.
Even in Canada, you can get in trouble for pushing euthanasia too far too fast. Dr. James MacLean of London, Ontario faces a minimum 6 months of supervision for killing Thomas Dillon.
The details are macabre:
MacLean exchanged dozens of text messages with Dillon about plans to be medically euthanized, and even personally drove him to a morgue facility to carry out the procedure.
There, in June 2024, the doctor injected Dillon with a lethal cocktail of drugs inside a holding facility room at an industrial unit where human cadavers were prepared for funerals, officials said.

In another case, Dr. James MacLean failed to administer one of three drugs used in assisted deaths — one that paralyzes the body’s muscles, including the muscles involved in breathing. The patient resumed spontaneously breathing again after initially being pronounced dead, and after MacLean had already left the home.
Too bad Canada has such tight restrictions on firearms. Issuing pistols to doctors could make the process of killing patients simpler.
Eating disorders, poverty, mental illness, needing a wheelchair lift, backpain. Now we can add tummy troubles to the list of ailments for which MAID has been offered as a cure. There are no limits to its applications, the sanctity of innocent human life having been rejected.
