A brawl on the De Haan (Le Coq in French) tram (Belgian coast) caused several injuries Sunday evening among the employees of De Lijn (transport company) and police after a (ticket) check of young men without tickets degenerated.

Three young men, not having a valid ticket, tried to flee from a coastal tram. The De Lijn (ticket) inspectors tried to stop them. This caused the situation to degenerate. A 4th young man, also without a ticket and originally from Ninove, was arrested by police, but not without a confrontation. Two officers were injured. One of them is now on leave of absence. According to HLN (news), a total of 7 people were sent to the emergency room.
Seven employees of the Flemish public transport company, including the conductor of the tram, were injured in the brawl. The 3 suspects then fled again. They are being sought.
