The Texas Senator did not hesitate to connect the dots between what we’re seeing happen in our nation today as it relates to the terror-sponsoring network.

Senator Ted Cruz: Now let’s look at the Muslim Brotherhood Network today and its influence in the United States today. In fact, just yesterday, Abdul El-Sayed, the son-in-law of a leading member of several brotherhood groups, won Michigan’s Democrat primary for US Senate. Perfect timing for this hearing. Probably explains why no Democrats are here and none intend to attend because their campaign is now openly embracing terrorist organizations waging war on America. Behind El Sayed’s political rise sits a much older and more entrenched institutional network. At the center of this sprawling network is the Council on American Islamic Relations. Care was founded in 1994 by brotherhood affiliates….  My promise to the American people is to hold accountable those who finance and support terrorism on American soil (Cruz).

All Five Democrats Refuse to Attend Hearing on Muslim Brotherhood

If the capitulation of Democrats on one of the major issues of the day is this abrupt, their future for our nation looks grim indeed.

Bill Melugin: All five Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on federal courts boycotted today’s hearings. They released a joint statement saying in part, “Scapegoating Muslims may be a Texas Republican strategist’s idea of solid gold to whip up their voters, but Democrats have no intention of indulging this political creep show” (Special Report).

The five Democrats who refused to attend: • Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) • Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) • Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) • Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) • Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT). Note: The other Republicans on the subcommittee did not attend. That, however, was a scheduling issue—not a denial of the newly-assertive (but long building) threat.
