On Saturday, October 24, 2026, several hundred students and young demonstrators forcibly entered the Colosseum in Rome for a brief period. The group, waving Palestinian flags, protested the war in Gaza and the Italian government led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Security staff quickly cleared the site, which was reopened to visitors with no reported damage or injuries to the monument or people.
