The main issue: the radical antisemitism embodied by El-Sayed and his buddy Hasan Piker. Stevens could not ignore the voice of her conscience.
Her endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers over El-Sayed is not going over well with other Democrats. Curtis Hertel Jr., Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, actually kicked her out of the party.
There is no room in today’s Democratic Party for moderation — or for conscience. Every Democrat has to make a choice: fully embrace evil or get out.
Even the unhinged James Carville has expressed alarm about maniacs like El-Sayed taking control of the party. But Carville does not have the character to make the same choice as Stevens, as he makes clear with his trademark tastelessness:

Far from treating her the way Carville suggests, Trump has opened his arms to Haley Stevens. Mike Johnson rightly fears for her safety.
