El Departamento del Sheriff del Condado Berrien es una de dos agencias en el suroeste de Michigan que han optado por entrar al programa, que permite que departamentos locales de policía se asocien con ICE en varias capacidades. El acuerdo del condado de Berrien con ICE estipula que los oficiales pueden entregar órdenes judiciales de inmigración para aquellos en la cárcel del condado y detener a individuos por hasta 48 horas hasta que sean arrestados por agentes de ICE, generalmente de Grand Rapids.
