I have never been to Idaho, but I have heard a lot of weird things about this state. Wish Fire a psychic medium has visited this state a few times and stopped over at a few haunted locations. With this article, Wish Fire will be providing me with some insights at a few of these locations.

Stricker Ranch/Rock Creek Station
Back in 1865 this was a stopover for the Oregon Trail Travelers. Some of the travelers were already sick and fatigued. Some of these travelers died at the ranch/station and buried on site. There have been many reports that spectral apparitions are seen in and around the ranch/station. Wish Fire has the ability of actually seeing ghosts and when she visited this site, she saw an old lady taking care of a baby. The old lady started crying hysterically. Wish Fire believes that the baby most likely passed away. The visual of the old lady and baby disappeared after 5 minutes.

Mesa Falls
Mesa Falls is haunted by the “Shoshone Lady in White”. Locals and tourists have seen the Shoshone Lady in White floating across the waters. In the distance, sometimes the sounds of beating drums are heard. Locals believe that these are the sounds of the Shoshone Native American tribe that once lived on this land. Legend has it that the Shoshone Lady in White drowned at Mesa Falls and haunts the falls to this very day.

Idanha Hotel
This hotel is haunted by the “Bellboy”. Tourists and Locals say that the Bellboy once worked at this hotel and while he was on duty, was shot and killed. They say that his spirit seeks out revenge. Locals say the Bellboy owed the Idaho mob some money and when he didn’t pay up, was shot and killed. The Idanha Hotel, built in 1900, has a rich history and is now registered apartments. However, it’s also known for its paranormal activity. During renovations, construction staff reported strange occurrences, including icy cold blasts of air and audible crying sounds. One worker heard aggressive scratching and dragging sounds from an unoccupied upper room. Additionally, a woman’s murder happened on the 3rd floor. After the murder, a violent ghost started haunting the 3rd and 4th floors. This violent ghost torments the guests of this hotel. The Idanha housed many curious clients who visited the “Trial of the Century” involving Big Bill Haywood in 1907. From this hotel, Governor Borah gave his vindication speech. It was also here that Harry Orchard rigged a bomb to kill Governor Steunenberg (which was called off due to his fear of hurting his confidant).

Idaho State Tuberculosis Hospital
When this facility eventually opened in 1947, it could care for 150 patients. It eventually closed in 1976 and has since been renovated into the Gooding University Inn. Throughout its years as a hotel, it’s spawned dozens of stories of hauntings by what could be former patients of the tuberculosis hospital or children who died on the property. The hospital is haunted by the “Mirror Boy”. People say that if you look at any reflective surface, you will see the “Mirror Boy” standing next to you. They say the Mirror Boy is small in stature and has blonde wavy hair. Locals believe Mirror Boy was a victim of tuberculosis.

Old Idaho Penitentiary
In 1870, up to 10,000 inmates have stayed at this prison. There were 10 executions and 110 deaths by age, illness, murder, suicide, heat stroke, cold temperatures, etc. House 5 is haunted by the Idaho’s Jack the Ripper aka Raymond Allen Snowden. Wish Fire says that you can feel the evil in the air. Wish Fire while visiting this prison saw visions of murder and suicide. The visions were too much for Wish Fire and she had to get outside and away from the dark negativity. Wish Fire says she has no desire to ever go back to this hellish prison.

Spirit Lake
Spirit Lake is haunted by the “Gliding Lovers”. Just like the Shoshone Lady in White, these 2 ghostly lovers are seen gliding across the lake. Legend has it that the lovers were from the Kootenai Tribe. The tribal council forbid them to be lovers. This was too much for the lovers and they made a secret pact to commit suicide at the lake. Now locals and tourists see these two lovers gliding all over the lake. The locals feel they are now in peace.

Owyhee Mountains
Now this is a weird one. The locals say that these mountains are haunted by the “Cannibal Short People”. Yep, you heard me right. The Cannibal Short People. Locals say these mountains have some strange cryptids that live in these mountains and that they are cannibalistic dwarves. These dwarves are 2 feet tall, and they have long tails. During the 1800s, many miners that had children, would discover that their children were missing. It was believed that the children were taken by the Cannibal Short People. The Cannibal Short People mimic the sounds of a crying baby. They do this to lure children to their hideout in the woods. Hikers and hunters have seen tiny footprints in the snow, believed to be from the Cannibal Short People. The Cannibal Short People when not eating human children, will feast on elk.

These are just some of the haunted places in Idaho. There are some weirder places in Idaho that creeps some people out. For example, there is the Lake Coeur D’Alene Fish Woman. This strange cryptid may be some kind of mermaid. The face and body of a woman and the tail of a fish. There have been a few fishermen that encountered this creature, and they say this Fish Woman is ugly to look at. One fisherman named Donald Mogley says that the fish woman grabbed his arm and tried to drag him into the lake. There have been numerous sightings of Bigfoot at the Teton Haunted Mill. In fact, Idaho is one of the top states for Bigfoot sightings. Bigfoot seems to enjoy hanging out at the mill. A ghost called “No Eyes” is seen walking around The Brig at Farragut State Park. When people encounter No Eyes, this male entity wearing what looks like a blue robe has no eyes! The Shoshone Ice Caves is haunted by the spirit of a Boreal Woodland Caribou. This Caribou will be seen walking outside of the caves and then vanish into thin air. Some locals believe this Caribou is a protector and watches over people that enter the caves.
