I met Rayana and Bulat Amangeldi on Next Door Neighbor application. Rayana and Amangeldi are from Kazakhstan. This is a country that borders Russia, China and countries that I can’t even pronounce, they are: Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. During Halloween they were discussing a ghost that has been terrorizing the people of Kazakhstan. But, before I get into this scary ghost story, Bulat told me a very interesting story that happened to his family. In 1984, Bulat and his wife Rayana went back to Kazakhstan to visit family. As Bulat and Rayana were walking through the town of Aktau, from which they are from. Bulat encountered his grandmother walking down the street mumbling to herself. Bulat was shocked. His grandmother died in 1978. Bulat grabbed this woman that looked exactly like his grandmother. The woman hissed at Bulat and wriggled her arm free from Bulat’s grasp. The lady then swiftly walked behind a building to get away from Bulat. As Bulat went around the corner, the woman was gone. Bulat thought he saw the ghost of his grandmother. Bulat relates to me that when he grabbed her arm, she was definitely solid to touch. Her skin felt like skin. Bulat now believes his grandmother is a Revenant and she mindlessly walks around the town mumbling to herself. When Bulat related this story to his family he was surprised to find out that one of his cousins saw the grandmother on a hilltop looking down at him. When he approached the hill, she was gone. The cousin says it freaked him out, because she was just staring at him. Bulat asked me if I ever had a case that centered on a Revenant. Out of 2,500 cases, I have never had a case of a Revenant.

KHANKOL VILLAGE WRAITH
Rayana tells me that Kazakhstan is very haunted and most recently the people of Kazakhstan have been seeing a ghost of a woman. The woman prowls the streets at night and terrorizes villagers with her presence. The fear that has gripped the village of Khankol was just enough to prompt West Kazakhstan Province Governor Gali Iskaliev to send out the police to investigate the appearance of this Wraith.

The Khankol Village Wraith has light colored hair. Sometimes her feet do not touch the ground, and she appears to be floating. She haunts the small village of Khankol in the Karatobin district. Her robe is somewhat yellow. One night the Khankol Village Wraith came towards a freight truck. The truck driver was scared to death and came very close in having a head-on accident. The truck driver pulled over and the Khankol Village Wraith was nowhere to be seen. When the truck driver got to the village, he told the towns people. The towns people pulled out their Koran and started reading for protection.

Locals claim that the Wraith will knock on car windows and will also attempt to force drivers to veer off the road. The villagers are so scared of this Wraith, that they are partaking in Sadaka. The ritual sacrifice of an animal. In this case they used a sheep to rid the area of evil spirits. As an avid animal lover, I do not condone this type of ritual. It saddens me that an animal has to lose its life, to get rid of this Wraith. There are other means to rid an area of negative energy and spirits.

According to Tengrinews. The police are now tasked to discover if this ghost story is a prank or a mass hallucination. One policeman joked that he wonders if homemade moonshine is the cause of these sightings.
