8/29/2025: About 4 months ago, I received a call on the paranormal hotline. The caller’s name is Mark. Mark would not provide his last name, for fear of being ridiculed with his story. Mark says he was visiting a friend near 4th and T in Sacramento. 4th and T had a legendary past reputation. That reputation and complex history centers on being a former Portuguese neighborhood and a former red-light district in the 70s. It’s now the vibrant Lavender Heights neighborhood, known for its history of LGBTQ+ activism and its status as a safe and welcoming community. Today, the area is celebrated for its diversity and is a hub for local culture, restaurants, and businesses. In the 70s, 4th and T was known as the “prostitute’s stroll”. There were prostitutes and pimps around every corner of 4th and T. Cars stopping all over the place, so Johns could talk to the ladies of the night. Mark says that the times he has visited his friend on 4th and T, there is a strong odor of marijuana, when there is no one around. I explained to Mark that the smell of marijuana can carry for a long distance, and I would not consider that as a paranormal experience. Mark says that he has been touched by ghostly female hands while walking to his car, but the thing that creeps him out, is that he will hear the sounds of high-heels hitting pavement. The footsteps are very loud and when Mark turns around, there is no one there. This has happened to Mark 3 times, and he calls the ghostly lady “the Night Walker”. When the 4th and T Night Walker, walks past Mark, he can feel a very cold breeze. The last time that Mark encountered the 4th and T Night Walker, he actually saw the ghostly woman’s eyes. Mark could not see the body of the ghost, he could only see the eyes, as the ghost passed him by. Mark says…”she stared right at me, I am too scared to go back to 4th and T and told my friend, he needs to visit me, instead of me visiting him. I feel the next time, something bad is going to happen.”

Mark wants me to bless the neighborhood. I know that the area is haunted, because 2 years ago, I investigated 4th and T with 2 investigators. I managed to capture two EVPs, one that was a female voice that said..”do you date?” One of my investigators named Chantel, captured a male voice that said..”where are you going?” On 8/26/2025, I received a call from Jeremy who was hanging out with friends at Southside Park, which is very near 4th and T. Jeremy heard some strange clicking sounds that seemed to be coming from all over the place. The sun was going down and Jeremy and his friends were throwing a frisbee. Everything seemed okay, then 2 of Jeremy’s friends said they saw odd moving shadows against the trees. Jeremy who is familiar with ghost hunting shows, turned on the recorder on his smart phone to see if he could capture any EVPs. They were unsuccessful, but did hear with their ears, some disembodied whispering. At one point of the night, they heard a full-on conversation between two men and there were no other men around. As Jeremy’s friend was taking pictures of some strange blue orbs, a tree branch fell in front of him, almost hitting him. Jeremy and his friends saw 2 human shaped shadows that were moving about. That was enough for Jeremy and his friends, and they immediately went back to the car and took off.

After I received Jeremy’s call, I discovered through my research that the area saw significant community activism, particularly through the work of groups like those led by activist Marie Balshor, to clean up the neighborhood and drive out dangerous elements like pimps and drug dealers. They may have cleaned up the neighborhood, but it appears that the ghosts of yesterday still linger around the neighborhood. This negative energy of the past could be residual or possibly intelligent. When Mark says the eyes were staring at him, that sounds like possible intelligent energy. The 4th and T Night Walker may be a ghost that died in a terrible way and because of that, cannot rest. If I get more reports of spiritual activity at the park and at 4th and T, I will consider blessing the areas. If you or anyone you might know that has experienced activity in these two locations, please let me know, by emailing me at: jazmaonline@gmail.com
