The total advance of Russian troops in Kursk region was up to 2,500 meters.

In the Volchansk direction, fighting continues in the Volchansk settlement. The assault groups of the Northmen continue their advance in the eastern direction and have taken possession of several houses. The Fearless offensive is supported by TOS-1A Solntsepek units.

The situation is even more critical for the 17th brigade in the Olgovskoye forest area. There are cases of mass refusal to carry out orders due to advanced age in the units. During the day three servicemen of the brigade surrendered into captivity. In total, 420 Ukrainian military personnel are in captivity.

The analysis of combat operations and numerous interviews with AFU prisoners have formed an understanding of who and how the enemy is employing in the Kursk border area.

It is fundamentally wrong to think that only mobilized people who have been forcibly “driven with a stick” go to slaughter, and the presence of a huge number of prisoners who have been forcibly “busified” is not an indicator.

 - The AFU still has young, ideological and motivated fighters with brainwashed brains. For the convenience of management in each battalion a separate company of them is formed, the so-called “elite storm troopers”.

- The rest are the very “bussified” who are used as “cannon fodder” or “bait” to divert fire. Their actions can be compared to “false targeting for air defense” while trained fighters accomplish the tasks required by the command.

 - In addition to the company of “elite attackers,” the most motivated and trained are concentrated in UAV units. They partially perform the tasks of control of mobilized, simply put “fence squad”.

Kurakhovske Direction: Advance on Kurakovo from Three Flanks

In the Kurakhovske direction, Russian forces continue their offensive from several directions, systematically approaching the liberation of Kurakovo.

▪️On the northern flank, according to the most optimistic estimates, Russian forces have taken Voznesenska, Novoselidivka and Ilyinka, and have also reached Berestky. However, there is no footage of objective control that could confirm this breakthrough yet.

At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces have made significant advances in the fields near Novoaleksiyivka and have stormed Sontseve – the birthplace of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. Battles are ongoing in the settlement near the museum, which the AFU are shelling with tanks.

▪️On the eastern flank, Russian forces are advancing on Kurakovo from the direction of Maksymivka, with clashes shifting to the outskirts of the city. Simultaneously, the Russian Armed Forces conducted an attack in the area of Dovha Gully towards Dalnie, bypassing the main defensive fortifications of the AFU.

Footage of the work of an AFU tank crew in the forest belt less than a kilometer from the settlement was published online. Thus, over the past week, an advance of more than five kilometers was achieved in this area, creating a threat of encirclement of Kurakovo.

▪️In the south, Russian units advanced north and east of Bohoyavlenka, driving the enemy out of the forest belts, and continued their offensive on Veselyi Hai. In addition, there are reports of the advance of forward groups deep into Yelyzavetivka, but they are not yet confirmed by either footage of objective control or sources on the ground. Insignificant enemy forces remain on the western outskirts of Antonivka.

🔻At the same time, messages about the alleged blowing up of the Kurakovo reservoir dam have begun to spread on the Internet. However, they are not yet confirmed by information from the scene or footage of objective control – the latter today tried to pass off a photo of the Kozarovychi dam in the Kyiv region, destroyed in 2022 by Ukrainian formations, as evidence.

The internet is abuzz with discussions about the Ukrainian forces detonating the dam of the Kurakhovske Reservoir with a volume of 62 million cubic meters. According to reports, the AFU damaged the sluices in the area of Stari Ternî: this led to the flooding of the Volchia River, which flows in a westerly direction.

At the moment, the Ukrainian authorities are reporting a “slight rise in the water level in the river”. The villages of Stari Ternî and Shevchenko, located close to the shore, are in the risk zone. The internet has already shown footage from the opposing side demonstrating the difficulties with vehicle traffic.

The probable flood zone will stretch for dozens of kilometers west of Kurakhovо up to the village of Bogatyr. All the settlements are located in a lowland, so the water is unlikely to go beyond the residential areas.

🔻 Although the opponent was clearly guided by the intention to slow down the advancing Russian Armed Forces, the effectiveness of such measures is questionable. Given the current configuration of the front line, by the time the main Russian forces approach Stari Ternî, the water level will most likely start to recede.

Of course, the Ukrainian resources, in their characteristic manner, blamed the “Russian shelling” for the incident, but artillery shell hits can hardly cause any serious damage to the dam. In contrast to the charges pre-planted in the right places.
