One problem is the fact that the Epstein files have been around since at least 2008 when he was first prosecuted. No doubt the intelligence agencies with whom he worked for knew all about the files at that time. Hence by the time Trump got in office in 2016 these files would have been used against Trump’s enemies and may indeed be the reason he got elected. After 10 years much of the Epstein files would have been used and known thus obviating the need for secrecy any longer except to continue to protect the guilty.
