Newly released U.S. Justice Department documents, including FBI files from 2020, have highlighted allegations that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was a “co-opted Mossad agent” or “trained as a spy” for Israel, though these claims remain unverified by official intelligence agencies. While the documents show a “consistent pattern” of Epstein using his network to advance Israeli political, military, and technological interests, whether he was formally employed by Mossad remains officially unconfirmed. 

Some observers suggested that Epstein was so powerful and wealthy that he operated outside institutional constraints, making it more likely that individuals within intelligence agencies worked for him, rather than the other way around.
