If Trump cared about “no new wars” or immigration, then Lindsey Graham would be the last person in Congress that he would endorse. He has repeatedly endorsed Lindsey Graham. He has also endorsed Maria Salazar and Mike Lawler who are champions of the Dignity Act.

If Trump cared about the Big Beautiful Bill, which MAGA lied and said was the reason he was purging Thomas Massie, then he would have endorsed Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene who all voted for it. Instead, he intervened to purge all of them in primaries.

The only thing that Thomas Massie, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace have in common is that they were the only four House Republicans who signed the discharge petition to release the Epstein files. In order to protect the reputations of Jeffrey Epstein’s associates, Trump has been willing to massively intervene in their primaries to defeat all of them.

Trump has remodeled the Republican Party, but it hasn’t been around any ideology or vision. Instead, he has transformed it into a corrupt cult of personality in which only sycophants are rewarded. He doesn’t even seem to be interested in winning elections or passing legislation anymore. We’re the party of $5 gas, inflation, war with Iran for Israel and protecting Jewish pedophiles isn’t a winning brand.
