Fear Not for I Have Redeemed You

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

“Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have called you by you`re name; you are Mine.”

Has the Lord redeemed you? Has He called you by your name? Only you can answer this question my friend.
Only you know if your heart has been submitted to the Spirit of God.
Know that only God can blot out your sins, it is only He who has the power to cleanse our hearts from wickedness; it is by His righteousness, His grace, His love and forgiveness that we are freed from the chains of sin.

Has the Lord called you by name?
By calling you by name the Lord acknowledges He knows you, that He knows you on a personal level. This my friend, is having a relationship with the only living God; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
When He calls your name, you know that you are His and that you have been redeemed by His grace.
Know that everyone who is called by His name was created for His glory.

Although God is not willing that any should perish and that all would come to repentance, most people refuse hear His voice or to call upon His name.
These people refuse to call upon His name because they have eyes that cannot see along with ears that cannot hear. They love darkness or sin rather than the light of His righteousness.

How shall mankind escape if we neglect so great of a salvation?

Repent from your wickedness my friend, call upon the name of Jesus to save you because there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved.
Let Him call your name, learn that you are His child.

That is straight out of Mithrasism. Christianity is Mithrasism wearing a new name. ;)

Mithra was born on December 25th as an offspring of the Sun. Next to the gods Ormuzd and Ahrimanes (good and bad), Mithra held the highest rank among the gods of ancient Persia. He was represented as a beautiful youth and a Mediator. Reverend J. W. Lake states: “Mithras is spiritual light contending with spiritual darkness, and through his labors the kingdom of darkness shall be lit with heaven’s own light; the Eternal will receive all things back into his favor, the world will be redeemed to God. The impure are to be purified, and the evil made good, through the mediation of Mithras, the reconciler of Ormuzd and Ahriman. Mithras is the Good, his name is Love. In relation to the Eternal he is the source of grace, in relation to man he is the life-giver and mediator” (Plato, Philo, and Paul, p. 15).

Prof. Franz Cumont, of the University of Ghent, writes as follows concerning the religion of Mithra and the religion of Christ: “The sectaries of the Persian god, like the Christians’, purified themselves by baptism, received by a species of confirmation the power necessary to combat the spirit of evil; and expected from a Lord’s supper salvation of body and soul. Like the latter, they also held Sunday sacred, and celebrated the birth of the Sun on the 25th of December…. They both preached a categorical system of ethics, regarded asceticism as meritorious and counted among their principal virtues abstinence and continence, renunciation and self-control. Their conceptions of the world and of the destiny of man were similar. They both admitted the existence of a Heaven inhabited by beatified ones, situated in the upper regions, and of a Hell, peopled by demons, situated in the bowels of the Earth. They both placed a flood at the beginning of history; they both assigned as the source of their condition, a primitive revelation; they both, finally, believed in the immortality of the soul, in a last judgment, and in a resurrection of the dead, consequent upon a final conflagration of the universe” (The Mysteries of Mithras, pp. 190, 191).

Actually its not Pix, what your quoting is more ancient than Cumont, it hails from the halls of antiquity from an assessment of the heretical band called the Manichaeans. Read it for yourself, it seems Cumont only rehashed an old argument from ages past.

Mithra was only one of the deities of the Manichaeans, there he was an angel of light. I think that since both were Iranian/Indo religions the interaction and adoption of the names and deities I think did occur in between those two particular religions and regions although finding a relationship with Christianity would be a stretch.
Like Andrea mentioned this specific argument has existed for sometime, St. Augustine of Hippo in A.D. 388 argued concerning the morals and some of the other percepts of their faith, it can be found here, http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/1402.htm

Still waiting for a response from Pix, I think he is one of those hit and run commentators who would spit on the article and author; then leaving it alone thinking arrogantly that their oh so thorough and insightful commentary brought the readers to a new level of unknown knowledge.
