War and Famine

This nation mourns and the cities languish. The farmers mourn for the land and the cry for their nation has gone up.

The people go and look for water, they look to the cisterns and to the springs and they find no water. They return to their home with empty vessels.
They are confounded and ashamed.

The ground is parched for there is no rain for this land, the plowman are ashamed and they cover their head.

The deer give birth in the fields and left for there was no grass. The animals stand in the hills and sniff the wind like jackals, their lives fail for there is no water.

“ Lord, our sin testifies against us, our backslidings are many. We have sinned against you. 
Lord, our savior in our time of trouble, please do not be as a stranger to us in our land.
You are in our midst oh Lord and we have called upon Your name, do not leave us.

Thus says the Lord.

They have loved to sin; they have not restrained their feet. Therefore I do not accept them; I will remember their iniquity now and punish their sins.

Do not pray for this people for their good. When they fast I will not hear their cry, when they pray I will not accept them. But I will consume them by violence, by famine, and by pestilence.

“Lord our Savior, the pastors and leaders say ‘ you shall not see violence nor shall you see famine but you shall have peace in this land ‘”

The Lord said,

Your pastors and leaders speak lies in My name. I have not sent them nor commanded them; they teach to the people a false vision and a worthless thing, and the deceit of their own heart.
Therefore I say to those pastors and leaders who teach in My name, whom I did not send, and those who say ‘violence and famine shall not be in this land’ to them I say ‘ By violence and famine those pastors and leaders shall be consumed. ‘
The people to whom they lead and teach shall be cast out into the streets because of violence and famine; they will have none to bury them nor their wives, their sons nor their daughters, for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
Let their eyes flow with tears night and day, and do not let them cease.
For My people have been broken with a mighty stroke and a severe blow.
When they go out into the field they behold those slain by war.
When you enter the city behold those sick from famine.
Yes, both your pastors and leaders go about in a land they do not recognize.

Lord do not utterly reject us. You have stricken us so that there is no healing.
When we looked for peace there was no good; for a time of healing and there was only trouble.
Lord we acknowledge our sins and the wickedness of our fathers, for we have sinned against You.

Do not hate us oh Lord, remember the covenant You made with our fathers. Therefore we will wait for You since You have made all things.
