Dollars is hedged against Bitcoin so it doesn’t collapse
Crypto and stable coin will be offered as alternatives to a failing dollar. They may, in turn, be the transition to CBDC; although, forcing everyone into approved wallets would provide the same level of control and tyranny. The wallets may force holdings into govt controlled and held accounts complete with tracking and control. Accounts could be frozen or debited. Every transaction may have to go through central processing for clearance in near instant time. It may be tied to cellphones, which themselves, are rife with surveillance. Later it may be tied to the mark of the beast.
As the dollar loses value and prices substantially rise, consumers will be forced into the alternative currencies to survive. The dollar will be increasingly abandoned domestically and internationally. Employees will expect employers to pay in crypto or stable coin. Dollar denominated debts will become essentially worthless. There is your reset! Stable coin is the wildcard. If it’s tied to the dollar in any way, that may slow the transition somewhat. But if crypto currencies are given the infrastructure for wide use in banking and retail, then stable coin tied to dollars is also likely to be abandoned. Govt may try to push stable coins tied to a combination of crypto and dollars or treasury bonds. This could be done automatically at the wallet/account level by tying all crypto accounts and transactions into using some fraction of stable coin, thus allowing govt to keep quantitative easing in place. It may become impossible and unlawful to use crypto without some hybridization to stable(unstable) coin.
