The Rapture Mystery Uncovered. It’s Not Happening Pre-Tribulation.

In all of my research and studies relating to end-times and the rapture, I have always felt very confident that the timing of the rapture would be at the start of the Tribulation Period. But, two weeks ago, I stopped writing about it, because I felt that it just didn’t fit into that time slot. But, if not then, when will the rapture likely occur?

Let’s jump into the scriptures again and see if we can find any further clues to point us to the answer regarding the timing. Here are the defining scriptures relating to the rapture.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Matthew 24:40-42

“Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

Nothing in these scriptures above relate to the timing of when it will occur, but hold on…Check out this golden nugget of a scripture. This, my friend, might be the very clue that I have been seeking for several years. Could this be the insight that we need to tell us when the rapture will occur?

Revelation 3:10

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

In this context, the “hour of temptation” does not necessarily refer to a literal 60-minute period. Instead, “hour” symbolizes a specific, divinely appointed period of testing or trial that will come upon the whole earth. This period is often interpreted in different ways, depending on theological perspectives.

Many scholars link this “hour of temptation” to the Great Tribulation period, described in Revelation (chapters 6–19). This is a future, extended period of intense testing, persecution, and judgment upon the world. Here, “hour” signifies a significant but undefined timeframe, as is common in apocalyptic literature.

And, the defining sentence: “I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation”

God’s entire purpose of the rapture is to rescue us from disaster, by taking us away before the “hour of temptation.” He states above that He will keep us from the disaster that is to come. That indeed is the clue to the timing of the rapture. Here’s what I mean…

The final 7-year period of time upon the earth, known as the Great Tribulation, has many different events that will occur according to the writings of the bible. Some are good, and some are bad.

We know that this period of time will begin surrounded by peace, which will be brought to the earth by the antichrist. PEACE. You caught that, right??? PEACE? No more war! Unprecedented Peace in Israel, allowing the Jewish people to build a temple upon the most sacred, and fought over piece of land…the temple mount. Peace is not harmful, is it?!?! We are not in danger when there is peace on the earth, agreed?

Daniel 9:27

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: (STOP HERE)

This verse speaks of a covenant (often interpreted as a peace treaty) confirmed by the Antichrist. The “one week” is interpreted as a seven-year period, with the first half appearing peaceful.

There is absolutely no reason for God to rescue us at the beginning of the Tribulation Period, because, we will all be engulfed in peace. (No danger, no rescue).

Remember when the Israelites were fleeing from Rome, and the army was on their tail? God did not rescue them until when??? He rescued them when they were in immediate danger, as they were stopped at the edge of the Red Sea. That was the time that they were “raptured,” when they needed Him most. It was at that time that they were rescued when God performed His miracle and parted the Red Sea.

At the beginning of the Tribulation Period, we are not at the edge of the Red Sea, and rescue is not necessary. We are in a state of peace. Can you see that? Doesn’t that make so much sense?

But, does this peaceful period come to an end? Let’s go back to the scriptures.

Daniel 9:27 (cont)

“…and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

This peace will stop, “in the midst of the week.” When the peace stops as indicated from the scripture above, His church will then be in need of a rescue, or the Rapture.

Here are two addition scriptures which confirm the logic stated above.

1 Thessalonians 5:3

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

This verse indicates a false sense of peace and security at the beginning of the end times, which is abruptly followed by destruction. Ah ha… The scripture actually indicates that “they shall not escape.” This sounds like a critical period of the Tribulation Period, and the moment that the Rapture will occur.

Revelation 6:1-2

“And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

The rider on the white horse is often interpreted as the Antichrist, bringing a deceptive peace and conquering without war initially.

So, midway through the tribulation period, the peace will end, and the antichrist will reveal who he really is. That peace then will come to an end.

We also know that during the tribulation period, God will begin to pour out His 7 bowls of wrath upon those who have chosen to follow the antichrist. There is definitely no peace then. Chaos and destruction brought by the antichrist, and God pouring out His wrath upon satan and his followers. This is definitely when peace is gone, and it all goes down.

I can also assure you that God has no intention upon pouring out His wrath upon “His Church.” It also makes sense to me that He would rapture us prior to pouring out His wrath upon the evil upon the earth.

A Mid-Tribulation rapture seems to be more in line with the timing of these events. That is the time which we will need to be rescued with the rapture, not before.

So, after prayerful consideration and promptings, I am changing my belief that the Rapture will take place Mid-Tribulation, or in the middle of the 7-year tribulation period.

For those of you who might be sad to learn of the timing shift, please know that we will now have a few more years to continue bringing people to Christ. Additionally, we will soon be in an environment of peace, which is certainly good news.

When we pray about things that are true, we receive the conformation of truth by a warm, “goose bumpy” feeling inside. For those things that we pray about that are not true, we will receive a stupor of thought, and continual unease or confusion about that topic.
