Above figure shows images taken from a thin section cut from particle C0068, which was collected from asteroid Ryugu. Image c (Figure 1c) shows many individual units that are connected to form vertical strands, just like how wood cells are connected to form strands in wood tissues. Red rectangles in Figure 1c mark nano-sized units that look like the micron-sized vessel elements, a type of wood cells.

Each red rectangle contains more than one individual unit that is connected to the adjacent individual units, just like how vessel elements are connected to adjacent vessel elements in order to form strands of vessels in wood tissues.
