Russia discovered that it was HAARP that did the big earthquake off Kamchatka and close to the main naval base where they keep their nuclear submarines. This is what this story is all about.

As a comeback (blowback) the Russians have their SCALAR ELECTROMAGNETIC WEAPON SYSTEMS, also called ‘Electrogravitational’ transmitters, that can direct energy into the hyperspace – not through space– and when it comes back into space at some far distant location..it can create explosions, or implosions depending on the frequencies used. Such weapon systems downed the Spaceshuttle Challenger in 1986, and can create earthquakes in the continental United States. One is now predicted to occur next, after this magnitude 8.8 earthquake in Kamchatka. (Links and images below).

On July 30th, a massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck off of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. That’s just miles from the home of Russia’s Pacific nuclear submarine fleet. And this is no ordinary coastline. The quake hit near Vilyuchinsk, the only base in the Far East that can support Russia’s nuclear armed submarines. The submarines capable of launching warheads across continents. Already we’ve seen tsunami waves of over four meters high hitting the region. Civilian ports have been flooded, ships have been destroyed, and power grids are collapsing.

But have I heard the Russian naval base? There’s been only silence. There’s no photos, no damage reports, and not a word from the Kremlin. And that silence could signal that something more serious is occurring than what Moscow is willing to talk about. So what’s really happening right now with Russia’s nuclear fleet in the Far East? It is in fact very likely something serious is occurring.

My name is Jason Smart. So, first if we want to analyze this- Well, we have to understand what’s going on. So, first thing is that Russia’s Pacific fleet includes at least three strategic submarines and they’re all stationed at Vilyuchinsk. We have the Alexander Nevsky, the Vladimir Monomakh, as well as a third that’s on rotation or in refit. Now, these are not interchangeable assets. All these ships require very specialized docks and deep water peers, warhead loading cranes, and telemetry systems that only exist at Vilyuchinsk.

No other port in the Russian Pacific has the infrastructure to support ballistic missile submarines. Vilyuchinsk is quite literally a single point of failure for the Russian military. So if this base was damaged by the earthquake or by the tsunami, the fleet may be physically unable to launch from the ports or to physically return to the ports, which thereby means that they cannot reload. Now, Russia cannot simply shift these submarines off to a different port like Vladivostok was because simply they’re too large, too sensitive, and too dangerous to operate without hardened systems and command links.

So if the docks are damaged or the sonar tracking arrays are offline, the submarines become stranded or they’re just silenced. And incredibly, Russia right now might have a serious crisis with its nuclear submarines, and they might not be even able to operate even. And this all happening without a shot being fired and without a single word being said by Moscow. So, is it really reasonable to believe that there might have been damage to Russia’s nuclear fleet?

Is it reasonable to believe that there might actually be a crisis at this very moment? Let’s take a look at the facts. So, consider this. Severo-Kurilsk, it’s 350 km, 217 mi from the epicenter. That’s three times further away than Vilyuchinsk. And there, there’s plenty of photos and videos right now online and Telegram. And what we see there is structural collapse, vessel losses, total power outages. We’ve seen massive waves across the Kuril Islands as well as Kamchatka that are 13 ft or 4 meters high.

Now, in previous seismic events, we’ve seen that waves of this size can most certainly damage military grade docks as well as the fuel depot, the radar systems, and everything else nearby. So, if there was such significant damage that we can already see, that happened at a port that is three times farther away, then severe impact at Vilyuchinsk is not only plausible, it’s quite probable. Vilyuchinsk is three times closer to where we already see these disasters. And there’s something else to consider as well.

Just consider this. Given the base’s funnel like position inside of the Avacha Bay and also the recorded wave heights that we know, it’s likely that Vilyuchinsk must have sustained at least partial flooding or infrastructure disruption. Now, in a region where terrain amplifies tsunami forces, silence from Russia’s only Pacific nuclear submarine base starts to look like a red flag. There’s been no updates whatsoever from the Vilyuchinsk base, from the nuclear submarine fleet, from the Russian Navy or from the Kremlin.

At the same time, we must consider a different factor: that during 2000 – Vladimir Putin’s first year as president, they had the Kursk disaster where a Russian submarine sank. And when it sank, it had sailors on board who were still alive and they were banging on the walls, and the US Navy could hear them banging on the walls, and the Americans offered to help. The Russians declined that help. Vladimir Putin declined that help. And incredibly enough, the Kursk sank in water that was less deep than the length of the ship. As I say, the ship was longer than the depth of the water in which these men all died. They could have been saved, but if Putin declined that assistance, that is the sort of cold-blooded person he is.

So, it’s probably not surprising right now, if there is a significant problem that is affecting the Russian Navy in the Far East, that we’re hearing absolutely nothing from Moscow. In fact, as a whole- as a rule, when nuclear assets are somehow affected, the Kremlin is silent. This is what they view as being strategically overexposed. They don’t want people to know what’s  occurring, so nobody tries to take advantage of their weakness. And there’s a very good reason for them to be defensive about Vilyuchinsk and to be secretive.

I mean, it is the very backbone of Russia’s Pacific based nuclear deterrent. It contains everything that one would need. It has the missile loading systems, the communication relays, the tracking stations, the launch infrastructure; It is all there. Now, all of these different things though must operate in unison. Failure in just one can paralyze deployment. And since there’s no equivalent facility anywhere in the east of the Ural Mountains, Vilyuchinsk is totally irreplaceable.

But there’s something else that occurred that is very important to consider when we’re talking about nuclear submarines. The earthquake also threatens the Kura Mountain test range [in Kamchatka]. That’s one that works in tandem with Vilyuchinsk to verify missile performance. Disruptions to their shared radar or to the telemetry links could suspend all future tests and it could also degrade the confidence in Russia’s second strike credibility.

So what would have happened if the ships were in port? Well, at this stage, they could very well be physically docked- trapped, stuck because the docks could have very well had some cracks. They might be misaligned or they might be silted. If they were at sea, they could be unable to return, at least safely, for a very long time. Now, that opens them up to fuel limitations, detection risk, and the lack of different ports to which they can go, just means that the time is ticking.

The biggest problem nuclear submarines have is just the lack of food and other things that they cannot do on board. Now, civilian ports like Vladivostok, since they cannot handle ships like this one, it’ll be interesting to see what the Russian government does next. And presumably, we would see news of this, or leaks would come out if there is some sort of a crisis and the ships are at sea.

Now, what’s interesting about this though is it’s quite literally just as you see in the insurance industry, ‘an Act of God.’ Unlike the rest of the Russian Navy, which we’ve seen Ukraine’s successful drone campaign, we’ve seen its attacks on Russia’s Black Sea fleet destroying a third of the Black Sea fleet, memorably to include also its flagship, the Moskva. But we see now something else going on. We see that Russia’s entire fleet in the Pacific is now got serious problems.

And it also did this entire deterrent, which it’s supposed to be. It could very well be compromised. So Russia’s ability to act as a deterrent in the Black Sea as well as in the Pacific, in both cases could no longer be functioning as the Russians had hoped. And why the Russians should really be concerned is because, though what’s going on right now in Vilyuchinsk doesn’t really affect the war in Ukraine in a very direct way, it does indirectly.

The Russians have a long-seated fear that the Chinese would one day try to take advantage of them. The Chinese almost certainly will one day try to take advantage of them. In fact, Dr. Sarah Payne, an eminent scholar of naval history and professor at the US Naval War College, talks about this quite a bit uh, in her research. And one things that she says is not a question as to one day: if the Chinese will take advantage of the Russians. It’s a question of: when the Chinese will act, and she said the Chinese will eventually act when the Russians are the weakest point when they have absolutely no way out of the situation. And then the Chinese will act.

So what does that mean in the grand scheme? What does that mean is going to happen next? What can we expect? Well, the Chinese are probably going to be scoping this out. They’re going to be testing Russia’s control over the northern sea routes, looking at its posture in Central Asia, doing everything else in the region, and what’s to do to take advantage of any sort of crisis in the east.

NATO could also very well pick up its surveillance in the Arctic, in the Pacific waters, to capitalize on Russia’s simply degraded maritime awareness. There’s a lot of different options for Russia’s enemies to take advantage of the situation. And what’s incredibly incredible about this is that the Russians got themselves in this situation. It’s absolutely incredible that they only have one port. No other nuclear power relies on a single port for regional submarine operations. Just consider the Pacific: the Americans have Hawaii. They have Guam. There’s plenty of options. The Russians don’t.

So Russia’s centralized structure, Soviet legacy, is leaving it once again brittle and exposed. So going ahead, what I think we can expect to see is this. There will be more tsunamis and more will occur. But at this point the effects will be the same. Nothing will change because ultimately Russia has seen sustained damage from this, because in nuclear doctrine credibility doesn’t require confirmed destruction. It only begins to erode the moment that readiness is put into doubt. So this point. “Is there a reasonable belief that Russia’s readiness could have been harmed?” Most certainly the case. So Russia’s silence leaves open the possibility that its most critical naval asset is crippled.

That perception of power is fundamental, and that perception is now cracking. So just consider this. The Black Sea fleet was shattered by Ukraine dones. The Pacific fleet may have been shaken by a seismic force. But for a regime that’s totally dependent on projection, the loss of both reveals just- only one thing, and it reveals the exact same thing about the Putin regime as a whole.
