OTL: Aiyuk Requests Trade; Should Ravens be In on Talks?

EDC Sunglasses Out to Lunch

After weeks of little-to-no NFL action, we had an eventful Tuesday that brought forth a ton of interesting hypotheticals for the Ravens.

But first and foremost, everyone should check out the podcast put together by Jonas Schaffer and Paul Mancano, who discussed the memory and impact of the late Jacoby Jones.

You can check out the full show here:

Alongside the Mile High Miracle, Jones of course had the incredible 2nd Half opening kick return touchdown in the Super Bowl, which will forever be immortalized by a painting in the Under Armor Performance Center. Ryan Mink points that beautiful piece out here:

Big plays aside, though, Jones was such a fun piece of the Ravens franchise. I’ll forever remember his TD celebration dances, his appearance on Dancing With the Stars, his New Orleans twang and his general positive attitude. May he rest in peace.

Inside The Castle, attention has turned to Training Camp, and Ravens QB Lamar Jackson sure was pumped up about it kicking off. He came to a Mini Camp meeting in full uniform, so who knows what he’ll do for Training Camp:

Meanwhile, Derrick Henry is ready to run through a brick wall (and this hype video has me ready to, as well):

As if we didn’t already have enough insane workout clips of King Henry. At the same time, he is Baltimore’s biggest addition this season, and should have an incredible impact when it comes to icing games late.

Another guy that could help is Free Agent Safety Eddie Jackson, who’s reportedly visiting Baltimore today, per MLFootball:

The career Chicago Bear is a former First-Team All-Pro, a well-rounded player at his position, and an obvious decision from the Ravens’ side, in my opinion. With a need for depth at Safety behind Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams, bringing Jackson in would be a coup, especially given Williams’ health concerns the last few seasons.

I’d be shocked if Jackson leaves Charm City without a deal.

On the offensive side of the ball, another development has been the trade request made by star WR Brandon Aiyuk:

It’s been reported that Aiyuk is unhappy in San Francisco for a while now, but he’s finally pulled the trigger on a request. Should the Ravens oblige him?

It’s hard to say no to bringing in a guy who went for 75 receptions and 1,300+ yards last season, but the asking price is going to be high. With Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor and rookie Devontez Walker alraedy in the fold though, not to mention Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, though, the juice might not be worth the squeeze.

Then again, Aiyuk could be what puts a team that’s struggled to score in the playoffs over the edge. Would you trade a first-round pick or more for him?
