The New York Jets are now officially mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. The team was realistically eliminated before Halloween, but now it’s official. Gang Green fell to 3-10 after blowing yet another fourth quarter lead against the Dolphins in Miami.

The loss will stretch the Jets playoff drought to fourteen seasons, which is the longest draught in all four major US sports.
It looked like the Jets were going to steal a win as they took a 26-23 lead with less than a minute to go when Anders Carlson banged through a 42-yard field goal.
On the ensuing kickoff, the Dolphins got a huge return from Malik Washington that the Dolphins were able to capitalize on and tie the game at 26 when Jason Sanders drilled a 52 yarder.
The Dolphins would get the ball first in overtime and made easy work of the Jets defense. Tua Tagovailoa used a series of quick screens to march Miami down the field before hitting tight end Jonnu Smith for the game winning touchdown. After Shutting Smith down all day, the tight end racked up 44 yards and the winning score to close things out.
