They say a picture is worth 1,000 words and if I really wanted to I could probably get there about this picture of Mike Green’s foot. Being able to play at this angle to the ground is going to be an unbelievable asset for the Baltimore Ravens’ rookie pass rusher. The low man wins. The one with leverage wins. Green looks the part early in the preseason. The last time I saw a Raven playing with this shockingly good ability to play the game at such acute angles to the ground his name was Elvis Dumervil. This is just a first impression. Temper everything with sanity, but be hopeful Baltimore.

Preseason stats obviously don’t matter. Yet this is exactly what you want to see from a second round pick who had the talent and traits of a top 15 talent. The Ravens faithful is more excited about Green, because he’s coming into the league as a ripe talent. The Ravens have been patient with their outside linebackers and pass rushers. Wouldn’t it be nice if Green was the one Raven edge rusher you don’t have to wait on? Keep it up 45, the Ravens Flock needs this.
It is also worth noting that Green was asked to fully play his position, not just set his eyes on the quarterback and push forward. The fact that he had some drops into zone coverage and made an impact in the backfield on running plays is just as encouraging as pressuring the quarterback. Complete players play more snaps in the NFL, and first round picks are supposed to be the most complete players as they enter the league.
Oddly vague response from Ravens HC John Harbaugh today on the Injured Reserve move for rookie cornerback Robert Longerbeam (knee). pic.twitter.com/SY8wFESGu9
— Morgan Adsit (@MorganAdsit) August 10, 2025
Here we have the Coach Harbaugh in his natural environment. Taking a question about Robert Longerbeam’s placement on injured reserve from a practice injury, this was his cagey response. Losing another cornerback (even if he was ultimately a camp body) is not a good thing. Harbaugh just can’t help himself in his answers he has to go “Oddly vague” as Fox Baltimore’s Morgan Adsit puts it in her tweet. Harbaugh’s injury reporting continues to be unnecessarily difficult to interpret.
With both 6th-round CBs Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam on IR, here are the Ravens’ CBs on the roster:
Marlon Humphrey
Nate Wiggins
Jaire Alexander
Chidobe Awuzie
T.J. Tampa
Jalyn Armour-Davis
Keyon Martin
M.J. Devonshire
Marquise Robinson— Jamison Hensley (@jamisonhensley) August 10, 2025
It’s hard to say that the Ravens are thin at the cornerback spot, but training camp is when you need the extra bodies at the position. If you consider that the Ravens have no interest in overworking the top four players, including the oft-injured Jaire Alexander, the Ravens are going to have to bring in more camp bodies that can take reps at cornerback and test their receivers. So much of training camp and the preseason is having enough players to get through practice and to funnel in and out of the meaningless games. Cornerback depth in the summer means something different than cornerback depth in September. You need some expendable talent back there in August.

The Ravens social media team shared this highlight reel from yesterday’s practice. Let’s just say Lamar Jackson is looking like an MVP throwing the football. While you’re always going to look good in a highlight clip put together by your guys and gals, there is one thing I noticed about every pass here. In each of the completed passes from Jackson shown, the receiver caught the ball in stride, with the ability to do something more with it. Whether it was Zay Flowers, Charlie Kolar, or Rashod Bateman, Jackson hit them with opportunity for yards after the catch. If the Ravens can get better at this in the regular season, the offense will have even more big plays. Jackson gets better at something every season so keep an eye out for this when the games count and he’s leading the team.
“@R_bateman2 comes out and works.” @DeAndreHopkins pic.twitter.com/3WQ35E61K2

Talking to the media, DeAndre Hopkins showed respect for Rashod Bateman’s game, citing his work ethic. Hopkins is a pro’s pro whose played on four NFL teams since entering the league in 2013. Hearing him say this about Bateman, who is one of the most underrated contributors to the offense, is encouraging. The Ravens have a good dynamic at the wide receiver positon.
“He’s stacking days… He’s committed to the game.” @R_bateman2 on how he’s seen @DevontezWalker grow pic.twitter.com/v5GcXw9LTL
— Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) August 10, 2025
Bateman had some praise for Devontez Walker as well, continuing this positive spirit. Bateman says Walker is “stacking practices” which is a fancy way of saying he is working consistently in training camp. The wide receiver position is often the source for drama around the league, the spot that fosters the most drama. The Ravens receivers are hungry and they go to work.
4 MORE SUNDAYS.
