OTL: NFL World Shocked Watching Ravens Get Bullied
Former Raven Chris Canty can kick off today’s Out to Lunch:
Epic rant here from Chris Canty who calls out specific Ravens one by one…
“They got bullied from pillar to post.”

In all honesty, I feel I could leave it there and let him drop the mic. Alas, there’s more to unpack.
We’ll start on the defensive side of the ball, because that’s really where I see the most potential for ongoing problems. Again, the media is providing accurate and pointed criticism on the unit:
“This is not a problem you’re supposed to be having if you’re a John Harbaugh team.”

Needless to say, the Lions ran all over Baltimore, which is something we very rarely see:
First time the Baltimore Ravens have allowed 4 rushing TDs in a home game in their 30 year history.
Just a massive stain on the defensive legacy of Baltimore
— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) September 23, 2025
They’re terrified of getting beat overtop.
That’s the one thing I know about this defense through three weeks. They will do ANYTHING to keep ball in front of them. PTSD from last year.
Madubuike being out made that food for the Lions.
Ended up giving up 38, so going to have… https://t.co/oI51KjUMeR
— Spencer Schultz (@ravens4dummies) September 23, 2025
I’ll say this too: Harbaugh has never gotten embarrassed in these prime time games. He was tonight. Wasn’t Ravens football. Madubuike a gigantic loss, they paid him $100m for a reason, but the Ravens just had 200 yards run down their throat at home in the black unis. That’s… https://t.co/JREiAIBKMA
— Spencer Schultz (@ravens4dummies) September 23, 2025
As the second thread highlights, DC Zach Orr took a head scratching approach to the line of scrimmage on Monday night, which was particularly confusing after Detroit had begun imposing their will:

— Ivan Evans (@CoachEvans9) September 23, 2025
Missing Nnamdi Madubuike hurt, but how would anyone expect to consistently win up-front when you’re out-manned? On top of it all, the Ravens missed tackles at an alarming rate:
Ravens allowed 85 rushing yards over expected last night, per @NextGenStats, the most RYOE any team has given up in a game this season.
Just bad run defense. pic.twitter.com/THK7zvQECw
— Jonas Shaffer (@jonas_shaffer) September 23, 2025
0 sacks?
20 missed tackles??
What happened to Ravens pride? What happened to Ravens football?? https://t.co/CDEDEADn5z pic.twitter.com/qiYgNGMEcs
— DRMZ (@GodsDreamer) September 23, 2025
Make no mistake – If you’re losing every rep in the run game, you’re not going to have much luck on defense otherwise. It stifled any pass rush the Ravens might’ve been able to generate, opened up play action, and kept Orr guessing. As a result, the pass rush and secondary struggled, as well:
Last year, the Ravens defense was 2nd league-wide in rushing success rate.
So far this year, they’re 32nd.
If there’s one thing from the first 3 weeks that’s cause for concern, that’s it.
— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) September 23, 2025
When Jared Goff has fifteen minutes to throw a pass and Lamar has a quarter of a second, it’s a miracle it’s this close
— Freddie (@FreddieTheOsFan) September 23, 2025
Notable pass rush win rates from last night:
Odafe Oweh – 17.6%
Travis Jones – 13.3%
Anaes Peebles – 0.0% (12 snaps)
Mike Green – 4.2%
Roquan Smith – 0.0% (7 snaps)
Tavius Robinson – 5.6% (19)— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) September 23, 2025
The last time the Ravens allowed a 95-yard touchdown drive in Baltimore was in 2001, per ESPN.
They’ve allowed two tonight.
— Sarah Ellison (@sgellison) September 23, 2025
And while I don’t always trust PFF grading as a fair reflection of performance, this week’s metrics tell a clear story:
The 5 worst defensive players, per PFF:
Travis Jones (26)
Roquan Smith (27.9)
Kyle Hamilton (29.3)
Broedrick Washington (30)
Marlon Humphrey (30.1)The combined 2025 cap hit of these 5 players: 44.5M (40% of the defensive payroll)
— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) September 23, 2025
As Skepticgoat highlights in his tweet below, the issue isn’t only the fact that the unit feels consistently porous, it’s also that the team’s “stars” fail to show up in the big moments:
I dont care if the Ravens win this game. They arent championship caliber.
Undisciplined.
Poor situational playcalling on offense and defense.
DTs are easy to move.
Key players lack focus in key moments.
You can’t win big playoff games with that. Sad but true.
— Skepticgoat (@skepticgoat) September 23, 2025
There’s simply too much money being invested in the defense to 1) fail to take the ball away, and 2) have numbers like these:
Most points allowed this season:
Ravens 97
Dolphins 97
Titans 94
Bears 93
Jets 93— Steve Palazzolo (@StevePalazzolo_) September 23, 2025
The Baltimore Ravens Defense through three weeks:

415 YPG Allowed
Only 3 sacks
Only 2 turnovers forcedpic.twitter.com/NJQC0gCBya

— JacksonMuse (@Jackson_muse) September 23, 2025
Turning attention to the offense, there were also mistakes. I’ll continue to trust Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry despite some shaky moments (particularly for Henry), but I know I’m not alone in saying that I won’t trust the O-Line for a while:
I know that doesn’t say THIRTY pressures https://t.co/p3trTfcCwY
— Kevin Oestreicher (@koestreicher34) September 23, 2025
Pressures allowed, per PFF:
6 – Roger Rosengraten
2 – Tyler Linderbaum, Daniel Faalele, Andrew Vorhees
1 – Ronnie Stanley3 sacks were charged. 1 each to Linderbaum, Vorhees and Stanley
*41 pass protection reps, 12 true pass sets
— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) September 23, 2025
Got a offensive line that’s fullback dependent lmaooo
— auntie Cie. (@cienice_) September 23, 2025
Lions just ran 3 dwn with a spy and forced Lamar outta the pocket. That’s unacceptable pass protection
— shannon sharpe (@ShannonSharpe) September 23, 2025
And unfortunately, what’s even scarier is that it doesn’t look like the QB trusts them either:
Lamar vs the OL is going to be a debate all week.
I just went through all of the dropbacks. There’s blame on everyone, but one thing is clear… for the first time in a while Lamar doesn’t trust his OL. He hasn’t had happy feet like that in a while.
Not good!
— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) September 23, 2025
Without a doubt, it’s a week where fans can easily look back at missed opportunities to avoid the pitfalls we’re seeing now:
The decision to allow these 2 to leave Baltimore has been haunting them ever since. pic.twitter.com/lfxfEn0Ful
— E. (@ItsJust__E) September 23, 2025
I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: letting Kevin Zeitler walk away when he clearly wanted to stay, even on a team friendly deal, was a huge mistake. Not replacing properly in over 2 years already was even worse. We are just burning processes and prospects at this point.
— Pedro H. Rhormes (@rhormes_) September 23, 2025
But all we – and more importantly the Ravens front office – can do is look forward at how to remedy the situation. In doing so, we have to ask the question: How great is this team?
In their losses, the Ravens typically do plenty of beating themselves. They obviously made their share of mistakes tonight, but this has been a butt whooping. Lions won at both lines of scrimmages. They’ve been more physical, more aggressive, better in just about every way.
— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) September 23, 2025
The Ravens got bullied on their home turf tonight:
Outgained by over 100 yards
7 sacks allowed, 0 recorded defensively
85 team rushing yards
Lost time of possession & turnover battle
Lions were perfect (3-for-3) on fourth down & darn good (7-for-14) on third down.…
— Bobby Trosset (@bobbybaltim0re) September 23, 2025
Lamar Jackson has a 141.8 passer rating with 10 total touchdowns and zero turnovers through three games this season.
The Ravens are 1-2. pic.twitter.com/72ByYCtM7L
— Jacob Calvin Meyer (@jcalvinmeyer) September 23, 2025
GM Eric DeCosta, HC John Harbaugh, both coordinators, and all of Baltimore’s brass have to look in the mirror and critically think on the team’s flaws. If they’re unable to recognize them and address them accordingly, then we have a bigger problem.
It’s crazy how much the 2025 Ravens are mirroring the 2024 Ravens. It’s like no lessons were learned from top to bottom
— Chris (@ChrisJustJoking) September 23, 2025
One way or another, rumors are swirling and we may see a domino fall soon:
Are we getting an OL shakeup or a Zach Orr firing this week? John is going to inevitably have to make one or both of these moves to save his job and I have to imagine his seat is scorching hot right now.
— Drew (@DrewBanned) September 23, 2025
Word on the street is a presser might be happening soon involving the front office. #RavensFlock
