OTL: Vegas Still Likes Ravens to Win AFC
Isn’t it funny how quickly tunes change in a matter of two weeks? After a home beatdown of Joe Flacco and the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens are back on track as one of the league’s best teams:
Current odds to win the AFC.
Chiefs STILL ahead of Chargers (even though LA is favored to win the West)?
Ravens AHEAD of Bills (even though Buffalo won the head-to-head)? pic.twitter.com/WyGAV3A3IR

That’s not to say the Ravens haven’t been one the NFL’s elite, but it does reinforce the idea that Baltimore will be right there when it comes to Super Bowl bidders. And to answer Kay Adams’ question, the Ravens had a commanding lead for the majority of the game against Buffalo. So, no, it’s not particularly surprising to see them ahead.
Additionally, when it comes to scoring, there’s a pretty stark gap between Baltimore’s offense and the rest of the league’s:
Points per game leaders through two weeks
1⃣Baltimore Ravens | 40.5
2⃣Buffalo Bills | 35.5
3⃣Detroit Lions | 32.5
4⃣Indianapolis Colts | 31.0
5⃣Dallas Cowboys | 30.0 pic.twitter.com/9CBzABg6tO— SleeperRavens (@SleeperRavenss) September 16, 2025
Needless to say, Lamar Jackson is a huge part of that:

Still, fans and media members have questions – and rightly so. Starting with the offensive side of the ball, the biggest concern has to be the offensive line. Before getting into the negatives, it’s worth highlighting RT Roger Rosengarten’s play, especially following a (relatively) decent performance against EDGE Myles Garrett:
Ravens’ second-year RT Roger Rosengarten has yet to allow a sack or pressure on 55 pass block snaps this season
Rosengarten is the only player to allow 0 pressures in at least 30 pass pro snaps at tackle

On the negative side, the interior O-Line is the real issue. As RSR’s Cole Jackson notes, the game against Cleveland was particularly bad:
Has to be one of the worst games of pass protection games I’ve watched.
Limited the scheme the 2nd quarter which limited total pressure outputs, but also limits your offensive pass game.
They were giving chips from both the RB and TE and the Browns still got pressure with 4.

I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but RG continues to be the primary reason for that
You know what’s crazy? John Harbaugh benched Trenton Simpson for Teddye Buchanan in a blink of an eye, yet Daniel Faalele keeps playing bad and being incosistent on a weekly basis over a year now and no changes are made. What’s a valid argument to justify this?

It’s no fun picking on one Raven, especially after seeing him put in the work to improve this offseason. Unfortunately, though, Daniel Faalele has looked utterly lost out there. I wouldn’t say I agree with Samuel Njoku here, but this is never a good sign:
The Baltimore Ravens offensive line is schizophrenic I swear.
A case can be made that Daniel Faalele played the best out of the 5 starting linemen on Sunday.
I’m not even joking lol

And as we know, everything starts with the O-Line. The Ravens might be putting up points, but aren’t converting as consistently as they have in years past.
I’d chalk most of that up to the hogs up front, but it could also be a result of slower starts for TE Mark Andrews and WR Rashod Bateman.
The Ravens posted back-to-back 40-pieces despite slow statistical starts from Mark Andrews & Rashod Bateman. The two have tallied a combined 6 receptions, for 32 yards on 12 targets with no touchdowns through two weeks.
Todd Monken may have the hardest (best) job in all of…

I expect both to have their moments, but OC Todd Monken may well be finding the right balance of targets across all their weapons. This plethora of options is what makes the offense so unstoppable.
On the defensive side, there are questions, as well. Again, though, I’ll start with a positive: Nate Wiggins. Many expected a breakout year for the 2nd-year CB, and he’s off to a good start:
Nate Wiggins vs the Browns:
8 targets
4 catches
15 total yards allowed
1 INT
91.2 PFF coverage grade

His performance will be improved by an improved pass rush, which I feel is currently Baltimore’s defensive weakness. That concern will only grow if Kyle Van Noy misses extended time:
Ravens Pro Bowl edge rusher Kyle Van Noy is bracing to potentially miss multiple games due to a hamstring injury suffered Sunday, per source. Van Noy, who led the team in sacks (12.5) last year, is hoping the injury is short-term. pic.twitter.com/h5iIy0gPLJ

But the Ravens have a secret weapon in Mike Green, who’s ready to step up:
Mike Green on the potential of a heavier workload headed his way given Kyle Van Noy’s injury:
“You’re expected to be ready, you’re expected to go. … I feel like I’m prepared enough…I feel like that I compete at this level.”

Green has yet to notch a sack, but he has shown flashes. And with just one interior player creating consistent pressure, the Ravens need more juice off the outside:
Players with 10+ pressures through two weeks:
Trey Hendrickson – 14
Will Anderson Jr. – 13
Josh Hines-Allen – 12
Jonathan Greenard – 12
Haason Reddick – 11
Dorance Armstrong – 11
Devonte Wyatt – 11
Nik Bonitto – 11
Myles Garrett – 10
Nnamdi Madubuike – 10
Harold Landry – 10… https://t.co/o6I0mbodG8 pic.twitter.com/VJj3M1Ba7x— The 33rd Team (@The33rdTeamFB) September 16, 2025

With a few games against strong offenses and QBs coming up, it’ll be critical for DC Zach Orr to take this pass rush up a step. Can they do it?
