The 7-3 Chicago Bears will look to stay on top of the NFC North with a pivotal game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Week 12’s game begins the toughest stretch of the season for the Bears.

However, there’s another major storyline going into Sunday’s game. And that’s Aaron Rodgers. The former Green Bay Packer left last week’s game early with an injury on his left wrist. It was reported it was a fracture and it seemed he could be out for his return to Soldier Field.

It was then reported that the injury does not require surgery. And as we all expected, Rodgers is pushing to play on Sunday. It’s obvious due to his long standing history with the Bears that he wants to play against them one last time at Soldier Field, with him being on the tail end of his career.

Members of the Bears’ defense have made it clear that they want to play against the quarterback as well.

The Steelers led 10-6 at halftime.

Kevin Byard, the current NFL leader in interceptions said that “everyone on the defense wants to play Aaron Rodgers, and I expect him to be there”.  Byard spoke to the media following Wednesday’s practice.

Byard also mentioned that the team is indeed preparing for Rodgers to start on Sunday. The Bears’ team captain said he has a lot of respect for the future hall of fame quarterback. He also went on to praise Rodgers for his arm talent and his ability to not be sacked, even at a late stage in his career.

With Rodgers’ history against Chicago, it’s obvious that the team will want to go up against him. The former Green Bay quarterback has a 24-5 record against the Bears.

Regardless of who is at quarterback Sunday, this is still a very crucial game for the Bears. The defense needs to come out firing and get takeaways in order to give the Bears their eighth win of the season.
