Chicago Bears set to bring back key player for Packers game
The Chicago Bears received some good injury news on Friday before Saturday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Bears had troubling news on Thursday, ruling out two wide receivers, Rome Odunze (foot) and Luther Burden III (ankle). Linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga was also ruled out of Saturday’s game with a hamstring issue.
Defensive lineman Joe Tyron-Shoyinka (personal), running back D’Andre Swift (groin), linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, and tight end Cole Kmet (ankle/knee) were listed as questionable to play against the Packers.

Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Chicago linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is expected to return to play the Packers.
“Bears plan to activate linebacker Tremaine Edmunds from Injured Reserve before Saturday’s game vs Green Bay, per sources,” Fowler posted on X. “Edmunds, who was placed on IR on Nov. 22 with a groin issue, has four interceptions and nine pass deflections this year.”

Edmunds leads the Bears in tackling with 89 tackles. He also has one sack, four interceptions, and nine passes defensed this season.
Edmunds last played in Chicago’s 19-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 16.
Edmunds is returning at a good time. Earlier this week, Bears head coach Ben Johnson suggested the team needed its defense to key in on and contain Packers quarterback Jordan Love.
“He’s very difficult to get to,” Johnson said of Love. “He does a great job drifting away from the pressure. They do a great job in their protection scheme in terms of looking to keep the pocket clean. They do a lot of chips on the edges to slow down your edge rushers, so you’re looking for your interior to get a little push.
“But yet when you do that, he can still find a way to buy a little bit of time, and he has a knack with the speed he has at receiver to float that ball out there in front of them and throw them open. That’s what makes him a really dangerous player right now. He’s doing a really good job and playing at a really high level.”
Edmunds is the titan in the middle. He can both contain Love or punish the quarterback for making a mistake as a passer.
