Caitlin Clark makes personal admission after big news away from WNBA

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been on a roll since she arrived in the WNBA. She averaged 19.2 points and 8.4 assists in her debut season en route to becoming the Rookie of the Year. Not only that, but she was also an All-Star and was already part of the WNBA MVP race.

Clark kept her foot on the gas in her second season. Despite being limited by injuries — she played just 13 games — the 6-foot was still named an All-Star for a second consecutive season.

Before taking her talents to the WNBA, Clark was already a sensation in the NCAA. In her freshman year, she already averaged 26.6 points and 7.0 assists per game. Her scoring average never went below 26.6 points per game.

In her senior year, Clark averaged career highs of 31.6 points and 8.9 assists per game. Clark then broke “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s 54-year-old scoring record of 3,667 points.

Caitlin Clark praises former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate during the WNBA offseason

Despite breaking multiple NCAA records, Clark failed to win a national championship with Iowa. She came close in her last two years in Iowa. Unfortunately, the Hawkeyes lost to LSU and South Carolina, respectively, in back-to-back national championship games.

During her collegiate years, Clark was teammates with Kylie Feuerbach. In essence, they were the complete opposite, as Feuerbach was more of a defensive specialist. Clark and Feuerbach were a great duo as she complements the explosive scorer.

On Tuesday, Feuerbach was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team following the 2025 season. And, of course, Clark gave praise to her former Iowa teammate in an Instagram story.

Clark shared a post from Iowa’s official Instagram account that congratulated Feuerback on the big news. The Fever star included a personal admission about her on-court partnership with Feuerbach during their Iowa days.

“Congrats Kyles,” Clark said. “Roomie was doing the defense part for both of us for YEARS.”

Clark conceded that she wasn’t exactly a defensive stalwart during her time with the Hawkeyes. However, she had the privilege of taking a step back on the defense only because Feuerbach had Clark covered on that end. This allowed Clark to focus more on offense, which is clearly where she excels.

Having a defensive-minded player is a perfect teammate for a high-scoring guard such as Clark. In the WNBA, she has Sophie Cunningham. The seven-year veteran joined the Fever in a trade last year. She has become Clark’s enforcer as they both had a memorable campaign in 2025.
