Caitlin Clark sends powerful message after career news away from Fever
The Indiana Fever drafted Caitlin Clark at No. 1 in 2024. She entered the WNBA with a lot of hype and immediately took the league by storm. The superstar guard’s popularity skyrocketed, attracting more fans to WNBA games.
Clark won the Rookie of the Year award, earned a spot on the All-WNBA first team and received an All-Star nod in her debut season. She led the Fever to the playoffs and ended the franchise’s seven-year postseason drought.
However, a groin injury cut her second campaign short. The Iowa product played in only 13 games, averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.2 3-pointers in 31.1 minutes per game. Indiana still made the playoffs, but the Las Vegas Aces eliminated the team in the second round.

WNBA: Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark will release a children’s book
Clark will add another milestone to her growing list of achievements. She is scheduled to release her first children’s book, “EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams,” on Nov. 3.
The 6-foot guard weaved her message to readers throughout the book. She sent a strong statement after the big career news away from the Fever and from basketball.
“Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way,” Clark said. “I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary.”
Clark transcends generations with her popularity. She continues to impact children and those young at heart with her skills on the court and her endeavors off of it.
The 24-year-old is back to 100% and ready to lead Indiana to another playoff run. She is also looking to regain her form and prove that she has already put her groin injury in the rearview mirror. Clark and the Fever will begin their regular season on May 9 against the Dallas Wings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
