Chicago Bulls expected to be in on young, rising guard in free agent market
The Chicago Bulls are entering a very important offseason with some big decisions to be made. Chicago needs to find a new lead executive and a head coach this offseason and from there, they need to re-work the roster.
As they enter a rebuild, the roster should look totally different within the next two seasons. It has to. Chicago cannot roll out anything remotely close to what they did at the end of this season. While it won’t be pretty early next year, they could set the foundation for what’s to come.
The Bulls will have two first-round picks to their disposal and also enough cap space to go out and make some big moves. And already they are being connected to a rising guard who is likely going to be in for a big payday.
Chicago Bulls named potential suitor for Peyton Watson
Denver Nuggets guard Peyton Watson is enjoying a breakout campaign here in the 2025-26 season. With that, he’s in line to have a big payday in the free agent market. And the suitors could be lining up for him.
Among them, the Bulls according to an NBA expert.
Per The Stein Line, the Bulls were named a team to watch in terms of Watson’s free agency:
“League sources have already identified the Lakers, Bulls and Nets as potential suitors that are likely to have the requisite spending power to present an offer sheet that causes angst in the Rocky Mountains. The Stein Line has learned, in fact, that both the Lakers and Bulls registered trade interest in Watson leading up to the in-season deadline for deals on Feb. 5, although it must be noted that Chicago’s front office will soon have a new lead voice after the recent ouster of former Nuggets executive Artūras Karnišovas.”
It’s not only the free agency part that is interesting but also the fact that he drops a note saying the Bulls showed interest in him at the trade deadline. Now, Denver wasn’t going to part ways with him. But it didn’t hurt for the Bulls to try.
Watson is averaging 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks a game this season. He appeared in 54 games for the Nuggets.
