Angel Reese draws two-word message from ex-Sky teammate Kamilla Cardoso
Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso entered the WNBA at the same time. The Chicago Sky selected both players during the 2024 WNBA Draft. Cardoso went third overall, followed by Reese, who was drafted No. 7.
Reese and Cardoso spent two seasons together in Chicago. They formed one of the best frontcourt pairings in the league. Reese led the WNBA in rebounds in both seasons, while Cardoso averaged 11.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Their time together as teammates ended during the offseason. This is after the Sky traded Reese to the Atlanta Dream in a blockbuster deal. The Dream sent two future first-round picks to Chicago in exchange for the two-time All-Star.

Reese celebrated her 24th birthday on Wednesday. The former LSU Tigers star took to social media to commemorate her special day with a couple of glamorous headshots.

Greetings quickly poured in for Reese. Cardoso wasted no time sending her ex-teammate a message for her birthday.
“Happy birthday 😍😍” Cardoso wrote on Instagram.
Cardoso kept her message short and sweet. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that Reese appreciates the gesture. She responded to the greetings with a message of gratitude. “thank you for all the birthday wishes 🥹🩷” wrote the Dream star.
Cardoso and Reese already faced off as opponents during the preseason. Reese and Co. took down the Sky on April 29, 87-78. Chicago will host Atlanta at Wintrust Arena on June 9 for their first regular-season matchup of the season.
