Bears QB Caleb Williams leaves Chicago days before start of OTAs
Caleb Williams is coming off a standout second season in the NFL. He led the Chicago Bears to the Divisional Round and produced impressive numbers. The quarterback completed 377-of-658 passes for 4,560 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 19 games.
His teammates continue to praise him this offseason for how hard he has been working. Williams’ maturity and leadership have also garnered attention, proving that he is ready to guide the franchise to more success. The Bears face one of the toughest schedules next season, but the 2024 No. 1 pick remains unfazed by it.
Chicago added key pieces to its defense in hopes of giving Williams and the offense more chances to score. The team will build chemistry during OTAs and minicamp, which will be vital to their preparations for the season’s grind.

Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams enjoying NYC ahead of OTAs
Williams uploaded a carousel of photos and a video on his Instagram account on Monday. He shared his enjoyment of the sights and sounds of New York City. The post included mirror selfies, some snaps of buildings and pictures from a subway station.
“‘I
️NYC’ -NYC,” Williams captioned his post.

It’s unclear when the 24-year-old left Chicago for his trip to the Big Apple, but he is expected to participate in the Bears’ OTAs starting on Wednesday.
Head coach Ben Johnson and his staff will have the opportunity to see the new roster in action firsthand. Chicago’s offseason additions include defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, center Garrett Bradbury and safety Coby Bryant. The team also drafted Dillon Thieneman, Logan Jones and Jordan van den Berg, among others, via the draft.
The coaching staff will hold the OTAs for three days, followed by another session from June 2-4. The team will begin its mandatory minicamp on June 9.
Williams enters his third campaign aiming to silence his doubters with another strong year. The Bears will open their regular season on the road on Sept. 13 against Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers.
