Chicago Bulls’ most recent trade speculation is absolutely terrifying
The Chicago Bulls are entering a critical offseason that will ultimately determine the trajectory of their rebuild.
They now have a new top executive in Bryson Graham, two first-round draft picks (including the No. 4 overall selection) and possess expansive cap space they can use to flex their muscles in free agency.
A misstep somewhere could destroy the Bulls’ entire long-term plan, and they surely have to know that.
But because of Chicago’s assets and financial situation, we are hearing the Bulls floated in rumors pretty much everywhere. They have already been tabbed as a top free-agent destination for either Jalen Duren or Austin Reaves, and they have also been mentioned in countless trade rumors.
One potential trade target that has surfaced? New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson, who was pursued by Chicago over the winter (different regime, though). But while Williamson is a big name and an enticing talent, the Bulls should avoid the former No. 1 overall pick at all costs.
Chicago Bulls should steer clear of Zion Williamson

We know that Williamson is immensely talented. He was a freak athlete at Duke, and he displayed that nearly one-of-a-kind athleticism early on in his NBA career.
Well, when he got the chance to, at least.
Williamson’s professional tenure has largely been defined by injuries and fitness issues. Since entering the league in 2019, Williamson has played in a grand total of 276 games. That is an average of 39.4 games per season. He appeared in 62 contests this past year, but that marked just the third time he has done that in seven campaigns.
Not only does Williamson have an incredibly checkered medical history, but he really isn’t as good as most think.
Yes, he’s fun to watch, and he averaged 21 points per game on 60 percent shooting in 2025-26, but he has no perimeter game to speak of, he isn’t a great free-throw shooter, he doesn’t rebound all that well and his defense is almost non-existent due to his lack of lateral quickness and stocky build.
The 25-year-old also has two years and nearly $90 million remaining on his contract, so why would the Bulls surrender legitimate assets for such a player?
I don’t genuinely believe Graham will make a push to trade for Williamson, but we do keep hearing the whispers, and that’s absolutely terrifying.
