Chicago Bulls trade preference in 2026 NBA Draft is revealed

The Chicago Bulls are in a good position to totally hit the reset button this offseason and speed up the rebuild. After hiring Bryson Graham, the search for a new head coach is officially on.

The Bulls are starting to reach out to candidates in terms of interviews and garnering interest. Despite failures the past few seasons, it’s an intriguing job to take. Chicago holds the No. 4 and No. 15 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and has a good cap situation to work with. Graham will have a favorable situation and the hope is that they can somehow land a star player in June’s draft.

But would Chicago even consider a trade in the 2026 NBA Draft? It’s possible according to a new report.

With the Bulls holding the No. 4 overall pick, the chance to get a star is there. This is considered a really good draft led by the top four of A.J. Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson. If Chicago stays put, they will get one of those four — likely Boozer or Wilson. But could they move the pick?

In his latest mock draft on Clutch Points, Brett Siegel has the Bulls taking Wilson at No. 4. But he noted something interesting:

The Bulls have no interest in trading the No. 4 pick unless they were to move up, sources said, and Graham is focused on building a young, dynamic team with a head coach who can bring energy and relate to his young players. Interviews for the head coaching role in Chicago are ongoing, as sources say the organization will move to the next stage of the process entering the first week of June.

He also noted that the Bulls have talked to the Washington Wizards, as have other teams, about moving up to the No. 1 pick:

As previously reported in our Mock Draft 1.0 before the draft combine, both the Utah Jazz and Brooklyn Nets have held discussions with the Wizards about the No. 1 pick. Sources say the Chicago Bulls have also reached out to the Wizards since the start of the combine, along with the Atlanta Hawks.

Moving up to No. 1 doesn’t seem very likely from a Bulls’ standpoint. However, if they wanted to go up one spot to ensure they get the guy they like the most out of Boozer and Wilson, that makes more sense.

Either way, Chicago could just benefit from staying put at No. 4 and getting a potential star. Then if they can hit on pick No. 15 and make a splash in free agency, it would go a long ways to success.
