After a busy off-season, Kyle Davidson has no more excuses

To say Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks are having an interesting off-season seems like an understatement.

Davidson shocked the NHL when he traded the 2026 4th overall pick to Buffalo for defenseman Bowen Byram. Then he extended Conor Bedard, which was not at all surprising, considering many expected him to do so. Then, on July 23rd, the Blackhawks brought back future Hall of Famer and former Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane to a two-year, $16 million contract.

These aren’t rebuilding moves. These are expectation moves. They are sending a loud message that they are done with their rebuild.

Bedard’s extension made the timeline real
