Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark still own one of the most talked-about on-court rivalries in basketball today. This has been going on since their college days, and the rivalry became even more intense when they both turned pro at the same time. The competition between them is still as strong as ever, even now that Reese is with a new team.
After spending her first two seasons with the Chicago Sky, Reese parted ways with the organization that selected her seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. After a rather tumultuous end to her second season in Chicago, the Sky decided to trade her to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for two first-round draft picks.

Clark took center stage on Wednesday night after it was announced that she will be on the cover of NBA 2K27. The Indiana Fever star will be the cover athlete for the Deluxe Edition of the game, which is set for release on Sept. 4.
Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is the cover athlete for the standard edition, while Chicago Bulls icon Derrick Rose is on the cover of the Ultra Edition.

It is worth noting that Reese was on the cover of the WNBA-specific edition last year in NBA 2K26. Her fans could not help but point it out after the WNBA’s announcement on Clark.

These comments sparked angry reactions from Clark fans, who, unsurprisingly, came to the defense of their idol.
“Reese can’t even hoop worry about that,” a supporter declared.
“when was the last time Reese dropped 45 and 10?” asked another.
“Angel was in the WNBA edition. CC is the 1st player in the NBA deluxe edition. Thats a premium NBA global cover,” a reaction read.
What can be said for sure is that the Clark-Reese rivalry is very much alive.
